Christy and Randy walked into Mr. MacEntire's office. They were both shaking with excitement. The only time that they had gone into Mr. MacEntire's office was when he told them in a matter of twelve seconds, "You are doing a broadcast at a small history museum in New Jersey. Please see Ms. Dora for details." Along with Dora being the janitor, she also handled long distance broadcasts.

And then he gave them hugs. Mr. MacEntire was old and kind. He left free donuts every day in the break room.

They had been sitting in Mr. MacEntire's office for eleven and a half minutes when a strange man walked in. "Hello, I am Mr. Montgomery. Mr. MacEntire was released today."

"By whom may I ask?" Randy said angrily. "This is his business you know."

"By the New York Broadcasting Corporation. They didn't like his show. It was either he released himself or the show went off the air."

Christy was so in shock. How did the broadcasting station not like the show?

"Anyway, I was an executive for the broadcasting corporation so they appointed me to run the show for now on. For now on thins are gonna be a little different. Instead of reporting museums we will report haunted historic mansions and castles. That stuff. Your new job is to go to historic Den, Minnesota."

Christy and Randy looked confused.

"Never heard of Den? Nah, neither have I before the corporation told me 'bout it. Established in 1844 in the spring as a boomtown for railroads. Suddenly, when winter hit that December, it was so cold, everyone left and it became a ghost town. You're going to report on the old town and you'll stay at the abandoned Den Hotel."

What?, Christy thought to herself.

"Now go talk to Dora," Mr. Montgomery said with his Southern accent. He waved his hands to signal them to get out.

Christy and Randy ran over to Dora all confused. Dora hugged them and told them that it would be okay.

"Now there's two things you need to know about this trip to Den before you leave for the two months it will take to film this news series."

Christy and Randy nodded.

"One," Dora said, "I will be coming with you. How can I leave two of my babies alone in a ghost town?"

Christy and Randy hugged their second mother.

"Second," Dora whispered this, "you need to beware of the Den Spirit."
