" I'm three vents from the volt," I pressed on the ear piece and then released it. I kept on crawling determined to get out of the air vents , it was only a matter of time before someone realized that the tempter had dropped in the rooms. I almost screamed out of joy as I saw an opening to the vent only a few feet away from me. I stopped mid crawl as I heard two different voices, they slowly but gradually got louder until the were right under me. I took in a deep breath and instantly I knew that if I so much as let that breath out I would be screwed.
The men standing underneath me weren't human but werewolf's. I closed my eyes momentarily thanking Margret for masking my sent. I opened my eyes and inched forward slowly with new determination pushing me to keep on going. " Jamie was acting up and Trina got upset which is why we have decided to send her to study aboard-'', one of the guards said. They kept on talking about their mates and children , when one of them completely went silent. "Did you hear that?,'' he asked I completely froze.
They both stayed silent for what seemed like hours, and no doubt i probably resembled a grape fruit from the lack of air. I shut my eyes tightly willing myself not to let this one breath that could end my life go. I heard the sound of wheels rolling down the corridor and let myself relax knowing very well that my savior had finally arrived. " It was probably just the janitors cart coming towards us that startled you,'' one of the guards said. The other just hummed in response but i could tell by the sound of it that he just wasn't convinced. Not being able to hold it anymore i let my breath out.
At that same moment Esme reached the guards with the cart coming to a stop in front of them . The guards muttered some insult about humans ,not being able to detect the werewolf smell on Esme.They simply reminded her that they would return in fifteen minutes and by then she better be done or else no payment she said nothing probably just nodded and the guards walked down the corridor chatting away to their break . I stayed silent until i couldn't hear anything other then Eme's breathing before letting myself completely relax and started crawling again. I grabbed the sides of the metal opening , lowering my self down legs first . I kept it open Knowing very well that, that's where i would be leaving from.
I dropped to my feet with a slight thud knowing well that if i were a human i would have most likely sprained my leg if not both. Standing up i saw Eme letting her hair out from under her cap before unzipping the janitor sweater,letting it drop to the ground before unbuttoning the lose pants and stepping out of them. " Took you long enough,'' i muttered. She rolled her eyes and stepped up next to me both of us facing the volt that was only a few yards away. " How long?,''i asked. She checked her watch before turning to face me." Only one more minute before all the cameras shut of , i wasn't able to diseactivate the lasers though.'' she finished walking back to the cart no doubt to get the grey bag that held everything we brought. " They still use lasers?'', i asked shocked. "Apparently yes and i didn't take gymnastics like you did for seven years so you'll have to get through them . There's a button you push on the other side that will disactivate the lasers so that i will be able to walk across.'' she answered. I nodded and started stretching.
" We have ten minutes after the cameras go of but still just to be safe put on your mask and wig.'' i quickly put on the short black wig over my ombre hair that was already up in a bun. i put on the mask and helped Esme with her own mask sense she already had her wig on when she entered . She Checked her watch again and nodded. I turned back towards the volt and reminded myself of my objective before taking a step into the room full of red lights.
