Shuichi nodded his head at the request before noticing he didn't bring the book with him. Letting out a small sigh, he slowly moved away from the bed Kokichi was on, he heard Kokichi let out a small whine when he noticed he moved away and he felt a pain in his heart "I'll be right back..." He said softly and smiled gently before carefully exiting the room and closing the door behind him. Shuichi walked further and further away from the door as he stopped near the library, slowly opening the doors as he walked inside the room.
He looked around a bit before finding the book he dropped, he went over to it and picked up before glancing at the door I should get back... He thought to himself but felt a bit conflicted, he then looked back over at the books before rushing to one of the shelves. He then did a quick search through the books before finding one he needed, smiling to himself as he brought both books with him out of the library.
He felt a little guilty about hiding the truth of his father's journal from Kokichi...but over all he was sure it must have had some information that other books didn't...and he was almost certain that his father had encountered a Siren before.
He came back to the guest room quietly, unsure if Kokichi was asleep yet or not. He put the new book down on the dresser before taking the book he was gonna read to Kokichi over to him, he headed over the bed and hesitantly spoke "Kokichi?" He called out softly, not wanting to wake him up if he was actually asleep. When Kokichi shifted and let out a small noise, he knew that he wasn't asleep yet. He smiled softly and sat on the edge of the bed.
"Hey... I brought the book..." He told him "Still want me to read?" He asked, making sure this was what he wanted. A few seconds had passed before Kokichi nodded his head and giggled softly. Shuichi took a deep breath before opening the book and started reading, he read in a soft voice not wanting to be too loud and make Kokichi unable to sleep.
"The light flickered and she looked over to the front door. It wasn't unusual for this to happen in her house because they did have terrible connections...because the rain and wind would always take the WiFi out so they didn't even bother to fix it.
The house just like everything else in the town she lived in was worn down. No people came here because of all the things that happened in the past...that didn't stop her family from coming to this supposed wasteland.
She didn't mind though...her family, well her parents left for a party while she had to stay home. They had to leave her home most of the time because they were always busy with work with the other people in the town. She hasn't ever known what it was like to have friends..."
He read for about 20 minutes, he then paused to take a breather before realizing Kokichi had fallen asleep, he stared at him and noticed the way his chest rose and fell as he breathed. Realizing what he was doing he blushed softly and shook his head. Come on shuichi... don't be so creepy... He thought, mentally scolding himself before he slowly got off the bed. He then looked over the dresser and saw the second book he picked up. Walking over to it, he picks up the book.
Whatever is wrong with Kokichi... maybe this can tell me... He thought confidently, he wasn't sure if Kokichi would've told him what was wrong. But he needed to know if he was gonna be ok or if it was something serious, and judging from what he knows about Kokichi he would've most likely lied and they would've gotten nowhere. He glances back over at Kokichi's sleeping form before getting some form of determination and looks back at the book in his hands. Though, he still had conflicting thoughts about doing this.
Should I even read this? He asked himself looking down at the book. I need to make sure he is going to be ok... Maybe it would be good to just glance it over...he shook his head and opened it making sure to be quiet so he didn't wake Kokichi.
Seeing as Kokichi didn't move or show any trace of waking up he looked back over to the book. Sirens...so Kokichi is a Siren...I'm sure this book has some more information. It is my father's journal...and I haven't read it before. Shuichi sighed and opened to page one.
"The adventures of the world" Was written neatly on the other side of the cover with his mom and dad's names signed at the bottom. Shuichi also did notice that he has a scribble signature at the bottom as well. He blushed at this and traced his hand over his own writing. I had no idea he even showed me this...
He shook his head a few times before he slowly closed the book when Kokichi shuffled around in his bed. I should go and read this in the library...because I wouldn't want to wake him. With that, he walked out making sure to carefully close the door behind him.
Ok, dad, what did you find about sirens...
He started reading the first page and made it about halfway through the book without any luck of finding anything on sirens before he turned the page. The top of the page read. "Sirens and their many mysteries" His eyes widened and he looked at how big the section was...and it was almost half of the book. Just what did my dad end up finding?
