A X E L 'S P O V

With the lights out, it's less dangerous,
Here we are now, entertain us.

I wake up to the sound of Nirvana's , 'Smells like Teen Spirit' blasting from my speakers which I long forgot to switch off.

I rub my eyes and look around. My room looks the same. Same old clothes spewn everywhere, my windows are broken from playing too much indoor football. I let my laziness make me sit around for 5 minutes before I get up and brush my teeth.

I throw upon a simple white t shirt and an unbuttoned shirt on it. With blue torn jeans on, I go downstairs.

"Good morning", My mom greets me with a warm hug and I'm ready for the day.

"Noah is here. You're late." My mom tells me and I turn around to look at him sitting on the couch.

Noah and I have been friends for ages. We went to primary school together. We go to the same high school. Our parents want us to go to the same university too. That's too much, isn't it?

"I'm already late for school, Mom! See you later. " I wink at her and she winks back.

"Have you heard about the new transfer girl. Shawn seems to be head over heels for her."Noah tells me as he pulls over at the parking lot. I look at his sandy mop of hair and wonder why it's always messy.

"Oh! Whoever and whatever!" I don't really care about the transfer girl, at least not that I adore someone else. Well, actually I do.

We walk into our homeroom and take our seats. I look around the room to find her and there she is. She is sitting on the desk of the last bench talking to her friend. I stare at her as she moves her hand according to the words falling from her lips.

"Whoa, man! Look at you! Can't stop staring at Cara!" Noah's voice almost startles me.

"Wh..What the hell? You scared me."

He raises a brow at me playfully.

"It's not like what you just saw... It's... You know... It's just... " I fall short of words and Noah looks at me like he actually read my mind. I hate that look.

That's what Cara does to me. I look at her again. She glances at me and quickly looks away, a small smile playing on her lips. She has blonde hair which went until her shoulders, she always looked like she is ready for a photoshoot. She has a small face and thin lips. She looked innocent, the kind of innocence one would fall for.

"Please take your seat! It's time for Math" Our homeroom teacher enters the class with a not-so-friendly smile.

Thanks to him I didn't have to answer Noah!!

"Excuse me, Sir. May I come in?"

"Don't you know you're late? But anyway, since you're new here, I can allow you inside. Do not be late for class again."

"For those who don't know, She is Amaira Mathur, the new transfer student from India." He adds.

She must be the transfer girl. I gotta admit I am taken aback by her beauty. She is really pretty. I can say that she almost has a 'bruh' look on her face. And her hair is hard to miss. She has Black hair with fierce Red highlights at the ends. Her eyes can speak a thousand words.  Oh, wait! What am I thinking?

She walks into the class with a smile and sits in the front row. Who sits at the front? Ugh! Not so interesting.

After an hour of the boring session, the long-awaited bell finally rings. Thank God!
