After finishing my day at work, I took the flight of stairs to move out of the building. It was a hectic day at work, at the end of which I just wanted to reach home as soon as possible. But The Rain God had something pre-planned for me. As soon as I left my work place, it started raining... Heavily!!! And I went on saying, "My day couldn't have been any better."
Though I uttered those words in sheer annoyance, I guess they were perceived in an exact opposite sense. The Rain God blessed me with all the more heavy shower. The rainfall was such that the public transport was hampered terribly.
As I made my way towards the bus stop, I could see an endless queue that was waiting for the bus to arrive. The spot that I bagged on was quite far from the bus stop. To divert myself, I plugged in my earphones. Then too, I was desperately searching for an auto-rikshaw that could take me home. But by God's grace, all my efforts and desperation went in vain. At last I convinced myself that "the bus" was the only carriage available that was competent enough to take me home.
In no time, the bus arrived at the bus stop. The queue went haywire, as I wasn't the only one who was impatient to reach home. By the time it was my turn to board the bus, it was already overcrowded. I thought to myself, "I have already waited for so long , another twenty minutes wouldn't do any harm." Luckily, I found a place to sit at the bus stop.
The rain was still pouring heavily, but now I was finding it to be beautiful. A romantic song form my playlist started relaxing my scramble. Though I was partly drenched, the cool breeze seemed to calm me down. Now, I was enjoying the rain, the cool breeze and the songs in my playlist. I started noticing people around me. They were troubling themselves in search of a magic carpet to take them to their abode. But just like me, even they zeroed down to patiently waiting for the bus.
Suddenly, my eyes met with a man who was sitting four five spots ahead of me. He was weirdly staring at me and smiling. I started reading his intentions (a female boon). His smile wasn't creepy. It was the one that comes on seeing something pleasant after a long time. As I was wondering about the reason behind his smile, I realized that unintentionally I was slowly twirling my umbrella, playfully shaking my legs and enjoying the weather. I was the only one who was patiently waiting for the bus.
As soon as I realized what I was doing, I stopped. The man gave a mild laugh and went back to glare at the screen of his phone. After some time the bus arrived and finally we were on our way back home.
That evening made me realize a few things.
Firstly, it isn't necessary that a day would remain unpleasant till it ends. A bad day can have a great end too. You never know what's in store for you.
Secondly, don't trouble yourself for the things that are visible obstacles. I am not saying that trying hard for something isn't good. But pushing yourself into the well in spite of knowing the consequences, isn't sensible.
If I would haven't accepted the situation and tried to walk down home, I might have landed up in another puddle. Accepting the situation, and acting accordingly, is the sign of a realist.Thirdly, we should learn to cease the moment. Moments are like pearls that once lost can't be recovered. Value each moment and live at its fullest.
Hope even u experience something wonderful as this...
