The half brother

The Jaturapoom family were having their breakfast when a call notification broke their conversation.

"That's mine, excuse me." Beam's mom said and elegantly stand up.

Beam and Forth look at each other. Bewildered,  cause this is the first time their mom got a call this early  in the morning. Then, all three men abruptly stand when they heard a very agonizing sob.

"MOM! What's  wrong!?" Beam called out while sprinting towards his mother's direction.

"Are all of them dead? The boy?! What about his son?!" his mom ask frantically, basically having a panic attack.
"Oh my God!" Beam, together with his step father catches his mom when her body starts to sway.

"Hallie!" Finn shouts while Beam said
"Mom!"

The three guided the woman to sit on the sofa while looking at her devastated face.

Hallie kept on crying while listening on the phone. She pursed her lips then ask.

"Is he the only survivor?"

"Yes ma'am.  It's  unfortunate that the baby is on her mother's arms when the accident happened.  The boy is at the back of the car. I'm  sorry ma'am.  We did everything we could, but we are only able to save the boy."

Beam faintly heard the caller said. His mom begin crying again and leaned in to his shoulder  while sobbing.  Beam's eyes is starting to get tears too.  His brain is starting no catch up with the conversation.

"Mom! What happened to dad?! Kao?! Is Kao okay?! And Gift?!"

Forth stared at his lover wide eyed and confused.  Who is Kao? He knew that Beams father is still alive. But He didn't knew he had other family.

Hallie kept on crying for a while after the call. Then she lift her head and looked at Beam, eyes breaming with tears.

"Baby, your father's gone. Gift and Mia are gone! Only Kao survived but he's still in critical condition!"

Beam's  tears fall none stop after that. Forth quickly stands and embrace Beam tightly while Finn does the same to his wife.

"Baby..." Forth said tenderly while hugging Beam more tightly.  He may not know the full story, he knows that this is not the right time to ask anything.

"Forth...my baby sister is gone, my dad is gone!"

"Dear, where is the boy now?" Finn asked, also starting to get a hold of the situation. "And why are the authorities contacting  you?"

"Benji was an only child and as far as I know, Mia was an orphan too. You know we separated in good terms. And Benji once told me he and Mia made me the guardian of their children incase something happened to both of them. Oh God! Why did something did happened! Oh Kao!" She cried again, feeling drained.

Beam can do nothing but cry. Cry for the lost of his sister and his father. And to his step mother that was nothing but nice to him.

And Kao, Beam knew deep down, Kao blame himself in the destruction of Beam's family. But Hallie never blame the boy and Beam could never ask for a better brother.

The family of four rush to the hospital where Kao got admitted. The boy was put on medically induced coma for two weeks so that the healing of his fractured skull won't be put on jeopardy.

Hallie and Finn are talking to the doctors outside Kao's room while Beam and Forth stayed inside to watch over the boy.

Beam is still sniffing here and there while gently scurffing his bang.

"Kao, hang in there bud. P'Bee is here now. P'Bee will always be here from now on. Dad, Tita Mia and Gift may not be here anymore. But we are still here, Kao. Mom, me and P'Forth and Uncle Finn." Beam mumbled while gently holding the boy's hand.

He put it his hand against his forehead and took a shuddering sob.
"Please fight for me Kao. Don't  leave too. I promise we will be family. I will be your family, just please to give up."

Forth stand beside Beam and put his hand on Beams shoulder and squeeze it.
"Have faith baby. Kao is strong. He will get pass this. He has your blood too." He said while trying to console his lover.

Beam look up at Forth, eyes red and poofy from too much crying. But Beam smiled.

"Yes he will. My Kao-kao is a fighter..."
He said with determination. "Thank you na, P. For being here with me and mom. You and uncle are very understanding.  I know you are confuse right now. But I will explain it to you once my brother is out of danger. I..." He swallowed the lump on his throat,  eyes watering up again.
"I cant just process my thoughts rigjt now. My dad and my baby sister is gone just like that. And Kao lost his family. I'm..."

"Shhh..." Forth said while putting his finger against Beam's  trembling lips.
"It's  alright.  Just focus on you brother this time. There will be a time for every explanation.  Me and dad will just be here. I will be here." Forth stressed out while smiling gently.

Beam gave him a teary smile while squeezing his hand. And turn to to the sleeping boy who got his world cruelly pulled out of his reach.
