"He's just so cute," Azumi said for the fifth time at lunch. She was gazing dreamily over at Iwaizumi, who occasionally looked over at her and waved. "Our whole date, he was super nice and funny."

"Did he say anything about any upcoming practice matches?" you asked, sipping your milkshake. Not only did you want to watch Oikawa lose, you wanted to cheer again.

"There's one tomorrow. Are we gonna cheer as a squad?"

"I figured," you said. "We're doing the stunts tomorrow, just like we practiced."

Okimi made a face. "You sure we're ready for that? We were pretty unsteady yesterday."

You shot her a sharp glance. "Well, we need to get it together. Quickly. If we can't pull together stunts as simple as that one, then we have no right to call ourselves cheerleaders."

The girls looked down at their lunches in stiff silence. You hadn't meant to upset them, but if they refused to work hard, you didn't want them on your squad.

Azumi coughed, breaking the awkward silence. "Did you have fun with Kageyama and Hinata yesterday?"

You shrugged. "I guess. They invited me to hang out with them and some other volleyball players this Friday. I guess it's gonna be a party or something."

"Iwaizumi was invited, too," Azumi said. "He told me I could come as his plus 1."

"Are you going to?" you asked.

She shrugged. "If you go, I will."

"What's this I hear about Miss [y/n] going to a party?" Oikawa said in his lilting voice, slipping into the empty seat beside you. "I was thinking of not going, but if you'll be there..."

"I'm not going," you said to Azumi, doing your best to ignore Oikawa. Part of you hoped he would go away. The other part of you... kinda wanted him to stay. It was starting to get less annoying and more amusing watching him try and bug you.

"Please?" Azumi begged, pouting. "I'm too scared to go alone with Iwaizumi."

"Iwaizumi would never hurt you," Oikawa assured her in a... polite voice? "The only person he would ever hurt is me. And I guess I'm not going either."

Azumi smiled at him. "I'll get [y/n] to go."

"Are you on his side now?" you demanded.

"Remember what I said about you two being cute together?" Azumi whispered. "Well, I'm making it happen."

You crossed your arms, leaning back in your chair. Your best friend was siding with Oikawa, of all people. "I already have plans for Friday."

"Such as?" Kumi asked.

"Suki and I are going to the movies. We've had it planned for, like, two weeks," you said. You glared at Suki, willing her to play along.

Obviously, she did. She wouldn't dare contradict the words of the cheer captain. "Yeah."

Azumi punched you under the table, well aware you were lying. "Well, it would be nice if you stopped by after the movie. I'm sure Hinata and Kageyama would appreciate it."

"Tobio's going to be there?" Oikawa leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table. "This will be delightful."

You still hadn't said a word to the brunette and you could tell it was bothering him.

"[y/n], you ready to cheer for me tomorrow?" he cooed.

You stared down at the table, but the thought of cheering specifically for him disgusted you.
