"(Y/N)! I'm back!" Cc yelled from the front door.
He had been staying with you for almost two months now after him and his girlfriend broke up. He was staying with her and didn't really have anywhere else to go, so you offered to let him stay with you for awhile. By 'awhile' you meant maybe a few weeks while he found somewhere else to stay. You two had been friends since high school and were pretty close, but you wanted him out of your house now. When he moved in, he was in a really rough place, so you let him stay a bit longer than you had planned, but now he was doing better and was nearly back to his old rowdy self.
You didn't know how to tell him that it was time to move out though. You couldn't just say 'Hey Cc, I don't want you in my house anymore, please leave'. That would be mean. You decided to ask him at dinner if he had found a place to stay yet.
"(Y/N), I bought groceries for dinner and stuff." He said, walking in the room.
"Oh, thank you Cc."
That was nice. He did it often, which you appreciated, but Cc ate a lot. He flopped on the couch next to you and started playing COD. You got up and decided to start making dinner when Cc noticed.
"Am I bothering you? I can do something else if you want." He asked.
"No Cc, it's fine. I'm just gonna start dinner."
"Oh. Okay." He said.
He turned back to his game and you continued to the kitchen. That was sweet. He didn't usually ask. No! Stop it! He's been here too long and needs to go. Don't get soft. You thought about how you were going to bring this issue up the whole time you were making dinner. When it was finally done, you called Cc and both of you sat down.
"Uh...so...Cc?" You started.
"Yeah (Y/N)?" He asked, mouth half-full.
"I was wondering...how's the search going for a place?" You asked awkwardly, not knowing how to word your question.
"Actually, I found one. I can't move in until next week though." He said. "I can show you. I have pictures. It's pretty nice."
"Good. Good. Uh, Cc?" You asked again.
"Hmm?"
"Thanks for staying with me. I enjoyed having you around." You said, trying to sound like you weren't kicking him out.
"Awww! Thanks for letting me stay with you (Y/N)! Don't say stuff like that though. You'll make me want to stay." He laughed.
"Oh...Never mind. I hated having you here. Please leave now." You joked.
You both broke down into laughter. Cc finally spoke again a few minutes later, after he had caught his breath.
"Sorry it took so long, (Y/N). I was looking. I just couldn't find anything. I understand if I overstayed my welcome, but thank you for putting up with me." He said.
"Of course Cc. You're one of my best friends. I'd let you stay forever if I had to. You are kind of annoying though." You said, causing both of you to start laughing again.
You finished dinner and did the dishes together. When you were done, Cc suggested that the two of you watch a movie and you made popcorn while he went to pick one. When it was done, you walked in and sat on the couch next to Cc. He had picked Harry Potter, which made you feel like you were in high school all over again because the two of you watched those movies all the time. You were always arguing which house was better because Cc was in Hufflepuff and you were in (Your house). When the movie was over, the two of you just sat on the couch and talked until you both got tired and finally decided to go to bed.
---------------
"Bye Cc."
"Bye (Y/N)." He said.
Cc put the last box in his car and turned back around to face you. He pulled you into a tight hug you just stood like that for what seemed like hours before finally ripping yourselves apart. You were trying your hardest not to cry. As much as you wanted Cc to leave, you loved him to death and were really gonna miss him.
"Thank you so much." He said.
That did it. A tear rolled down your cheek and you could do nothing to stop it. Cc noticed and wiped it away with his thumb.
"Hey, don't cry. It's ok. It's not like you'll never see me again! My new apartment is within walking distance. You can come over any time you want." He said.
He pulled you into another hug and gave you a little piece of paper with his new address. You let go of him and he got in his car. You watched and waved as he drove away and went back inside your now empty and quiet house.
