Chapter Twenty One - Behind the Truth

Meanwhile Arthit reasoned with Tine want to go to look for Kong, but in fact he's looking for the cat demon after find out that the girl was still alive and had the last missing dragon pearl.

Arthit followed the girl silently until she entered the toilet, then he went to other side of building and guarding the toilet ventilation. As he has expected, a black cat slipped out of the ventilation window and head to the back of art faculty building, then climbed up by jumped to the windows and up, leading to the roof.

Arthit can smell a strong demon's aura from inside the building including Tine, but he is not interested in joining, instead he decides to climb the building in the same way as a cat demon, so he transformed into a snake and creeps up following the building's architectural design to the top.

Khao sneaks into the emergency stairs and took out her bow, targeting Sarawat, but when she was about to shoot the arrow, suddenly her attention was diverted, causing her missed out the target.

Arthit was pointing the sharp edge of the sword at the girl's neck and told her to be quiet, then ordered her to following him out, even though Arthit could hear Tine's screaming from below.

"I guess today is my lucky day, don't you agree?" Arthit grinned at her after they arrived at outside. "I didn't expect it turns out that the thief was you...what a perfect disguise..."

The girl glanced at the sword that pointed to her neck for a glance, then turned at Arthit with a sharp look before replied.

"I don't understand what are you talking about?"

Arthit nodded with a sarcastic smile, then grabbed the girl's hand and rolled her sleeve up to reveal the bracelet. Khao glared in surprised and realized that she could no longer cover her identity.

"I thought the Ox Demon had killed you thousands of years ago, I didn't expect it turns out that you're still alive and have  a long life, now I truly believe the myth that said cat having nine lives..."

"Do you wish I was dead?" asked Khao and sounded calm. "Or happy because I'm still alive?"

"I'm happy that Ox Demon didn't kill you, because I'm gonna kill you with my hands!!!" Arthit emphasized.

"Well, it's an honor for me to die at the hands of white snake, who be known as the legend..."

"But my reputation is nothing if compared to you and because of your actions, I must suffer for life from losing the only family I have, imprisoned for thousands of years in the heaven, parting with the person I love the most, struggling between life and death, and you call it a legend?!!"

"I mean...all the demons are respecting you because you had released them from prison 500 years ago..." Khao said. "And I don't know if you have such a sad story in your life...but I didn't think, it has anything to do with me..."

"Didn't, you say?!!" Arthit growled furiously. "Namtan has confessed everything to me!! You had manipulated her, told her to steal my baby egg, then gave it to the rat demon!!! Do you want to deny that?!!" he shot forward and strangled her neck strongly

Khao shuddered and did not expect that Arthit had known everything. She tried to get rid Arthit's hand to free herself.

"Y-You misunderstood...please, let me...go...."

"Misunderstood?!!"

"It was...rat demon's plan..." Khao tried to explain. "He...tricked me..."

"You expect me to believe it?" Arthit laughed and toss the girl's body to the floor hard.

Khao touched her neck, then swallowed her saliva. "He...said that...to...be a zodiac's deity, I have to found the dragon-snake egg and present it...to the gods..." she stammered.
