The Holiday of horror

Chapter 3

Zoe's POV:
Louise ran over to us.
"Pretty please can I share a room with you guys?" She practically begged, "sure chummy" of course me and Alfie were sharing, now Louise too! We didn't mind about running to get the best room we took our time. "Don't you think this place is a bit creepy?" Said Louise as we walked into a huge hall with very old fashioned furniture and interior. "Very" Alfie replied. In habit i looked for a light switch although we didn't need anymore light as the windows were gigantic! I looked up to find no light but candles on fancy holders. I looked ahead to see a big wooden stair way with a 3 paths at the top, a Marcus and Niomi went to the right, jack,Finn and Louis ran to the left and I seen joe and Caspar run straight ahead. "Why don't we look around down here" I suggested as Alfie and Louise nodded. Everything was quite dusty, there seemed to be a lot of paintings of old men and women lined on the wall, lots of vases and ornaments dotted on furniture. To the right was an arch through to what looked like a kitchen place and to the left was a couch area with a expensive looking fire on the wall. The floor was all old, rotten wood covered with dark dirty rugs. My footsteps echoed as I walked
Over to a door behind the uncomfortable looking couch, I hesitantly opened the door to find a stone stairway leading down to a dark cellar, i decided to close the door and not go down. Already it was starting to get dark so we headed upstairs with our bags. Alfie decided to take us left, again there was lots of painting and Orniments. The walls had old wallpaper, almost green but a more creamish was now there. An old red carpet was on the floor, and it looked like their were mouse droppings, I tried to ignore it.

Alfie's POV:
After looking through many doors, all were filled with books or boxes or something like that we finally found a room with a double bed and a single bed. The room was quite big, a huge four posted bed filled the centre of the room, and a small single bed was to the left of the door. There was a big window to the left, I laid my stuff of the bed and looked out the window. The view was nice, but would be creepy at night. It was basically just forest of tall but thin trees, like on Slenderman. The sun was starting to set and a cloud of darkness was rolling in. Louise and Zoe were in deep conversation while unpacking their things into the big oak wardrobe and drawers. I started to unpack as well, my phone was on 20% so I looked around for a socket. None.
"Jeezo" I said aloud, "what?" Zoe said, "there are no plugs to charge my phone!" I moaned, Zoe came over and hugged me, you can plug it into the MacBook and it will charge, until your MacBook runs out of charge" she laughed and got back to packing. Eventually we were all unpacked, "oh no!" Zoe suddenly said, "what?" Me and Louise said in unison, quite worried, "we were supposed to be downstairs 10 minutes ago! They'll be worried!", "oops" Louise said, "wait first light the candles, it's really dark." I added, Louise pulled a lighter out of her pocket, "excuse me, why do you have that?" Zoe asked, "I was online and somewhere it said you should always Carry a lighter or matches with you, you'll never know when you need it!" I laughed, "okay then". As Louise lit the many candles, I closed the curtains, my gaze stopped on the grass that I think was out the back of the mansion, there was a figure standing there staring, at...me I think, I looked away and looked back to find it was gone. I tried to forget about it, It was just a figment of my imagination. It took us a while but we finally made it downstairs, I left our room door open so that we could recognise our room when we go back tonight. The downstairs was all Litten up, I could see Louis lighting the fire, joe, Caspar, Tanya and Jim were on the couches that I think they had cleaned a little. We walked down the stairs, them creaking with every step. Finn spotted us, "guys, there you are" he practically shouted, "we tried not to worry" laughed jack. "Where's Marcus and Niomi?" I asked, "they're in the kitchen cleaning it before we cook in it, luckily they brought a tonne of food" jack explained, as I walked up to him. I saw that Zoe and Louise were talking to everybody over at the couches. I jumped as a big grandfather clock chimed 6'o clock. I wandered through to the kitchen, "hey guys", "hi Alfie" said Niomi as she packed beans into a cupboards, "helllooooo" laughed Marcus as he scrubbed at an old-fashioned looking oven, "need any help?" I asked, "um well you could go into the pantry bit over there and light some candles?" Niomi suggested, "okay" I replied, she chucked me a box of matches. I then walked over to the dark room, it was small, but pantrys are small. I felt around for a candle when all Of a sudden my hand landed on something soft, I lifted it up before lighting a match, I drew the match closer to the object in my hands and noticed it was a teddy, an old dusty teddy. Weird. I put it in my pocket and then lit a few candles. I walked back through and showed Niomi, "weird" she said and got back to work. Outside it was raining, pretty hard. I wandered through to the couch where everyone was hanging out.
