Alone

They were walking deep through the forest jumping at every sound they heard.

"This is freaky," Taylor muttered.

"Yeah it's a little creepy."

"Come on guys we've been through scarier stuff." Leo claimed, "We've literally seen dead bodies."

"Yeah, but it's still creepy."

"Where are we going anyway?"

"We're just gonna keep walking til we find a place to stay for a little bit."

"But we've been walking for days." Taylor groaned.

"You can fly."

Taylor sighed before she transformed into a bat and started to fly behind the group. Kaline whispered to Leo, "I think you upset Taylor a little bit."

"I didn't mean to it's just we need to focus and keep going. Stopping will only get us in trouble."

"Yeah... it's just you know Taylor's a little sensitive you gotta be easy on her."

"Yeah I know."

"So Leo, it turns out you do have an ability."

"Yeah yeah I was wrong no need to rub it in."

"Your power's really cool."

"Yeah but it's kinda weird." Leo claimed.

"What do you mean?"

"Well as far as I'm concerned nothing can kill me. I literally had a hole in my chest and it just disappeared like nothing happened. It's kinda freaky I'm not gonna lie."

"Well it's still a great power."

"And it's gonna help you a lot, I'm sure."

"I guess, but it looks like I still have to depend on my weapons."

"Good thing you know how to use em."

Suddenly they Jordan jumped and put his arms out in front of the others, "What's going on?"

"Shh! Look."

They looked up and saw three young adults looking through the forest. They quickly hid behind trees and peaked to look at them.

"Who are they?"

"I don't know."

There were two men and one woman. The woman was dark tan skinned with brown eyes and black hair. She was wearing a green camo shirt, ripped black jeans, and black boots. One of the men had beige colored skin, green eyes, and jet black hair. He was wearing a burgundy shirt, dark blue jeans, and black and white sneakers. The other man was dark brown skinned with dark brown eyes and black dreadlocks. He was wearing a white shirt with a green jacket and blue jeans with black sneakers.
They saw the man with dreadlocks close his eyes as he took a deep breath.

"Who's there?" he asked. They froze and held their breath. "Just come out, we're not trying to hurt you."

"What do we do?" Taylor asked.

Leo sighed before he stepped into the view.

"Where are the others?" the man asked.

"What do you want?"

"We just wanna talk." the other man claimed.

"You can talk to me."

"Please, you can trust us we promise."

Leo paused before he whispered, "They can't be officers, they're not in the uniform and they're wide awake."

Kaline sighed before she stepped out and Jordan and Taylor followed.

"I'm Darius, this is Tyler and Kim."

"I'm Leo this is Jordan, Kaline, and Taylor."

"Are you guys lost?" Kim asked.

"Not really."

"We're looking for a place to stay for a little bit."

"Why don't you come to our camp?" Darius suggested, "We have plenty of room."

"I don't know."

"Please we insist, we wouldn't want you to get hurt." They exchanged looks and remained silent. "You won't do much better alone in the woods."

Leo sighed before he whispered to the others, "We don't really have another option."

"But what if they try to hurt us?"

"I don't think they will, and even then we can handle it."

The others remained silent until they nodded and Darius said, "Follow us."

They followed them deeper into the forest until they reached their camp.
