Hikari

The two days went by quickly, and when we came back, Iida was there. He pulled me, Midoriya, and Ochaco aside and told us about his brother and how everything was just fine.

Soon, Mr. Aizawa came into our classroom with Midnight and said, "Welcome back, students. Today, you all will be choosing your hero names."

Everyone seemed excited, except for me, Todoroki, and Iida. From looking at their faces, I could tell something was bothering them, but I didn't ask. I knew Iida's brother was more hurt than he was letting on, but Todoroki... he looked almost sad.

"But before you begin, there's a reason that you are choosing your hero names this early," he said. "Many pro heroes have choose you first years for the draft pick. You will be choosing one of these heroes and going on a one week internship with them to learn and train. Here are the results of the heroes who drafted you."

I searched for my name on the board. I had over four thousand offers, and right above me was Todoroki, with just a few more offers than me.

"That's strange," Yaoyorozu said. "Bakugo won the Sports Festival, yet Todoroki and Kazenikura got more offers than him." She looked at us. "Congratulations."

I said thank you, but Todoroki didn't say anything, he just stared at the board. Okay, something was definitely wrong with him.

I frowned. Now that I thought about it, he was acting a little strange during the sports festival, too, just not as bad as now.

"Now, you have a while to choose your names, so think it over carefully," Midnight said.

Mr. Aizawa laid down on the ground. "I don't care what you're names are. Midnight will approve of them. Just... hurry up and finish before my nap's over."

Midnight handed out canvas to write on, and I stared at my paper, trying to think. This was going to be so hard.

"Oh, and by the way, you will all be presenting your hero names in front of the class!" Midnight exclaimed.

Everyone groaned. I sighed. This just made things even worse.

A couple people went and got approved by Midnight. I guess this raised everyone's spirit's, because soon everyone was up there sharing their hero names.

Suddenly I remembered what I said to Todoroki when I first met him.

I'd rather go with Hikari, my first name, but it doesn't matter.

That's when I decided what my hero name was going to be. I wrote my name 'Hikari' on the canvas and walked to the front of the class.

Midnight looked surprised. "Just... your name?"

I nodded, then I went and sat back down. I remembered what my brother had told me about picking his hero name.

I was wondering what to choose, I remember him saying. When suddenly I remembered what my name meant. 'Dark Cold'. I decided right then and there that that would be my hero name from then on.

To be honest, I was thinking about putting what my name meant on that canvas board. 'Light Cold'. But, this choice was better. It would help me remember my first friend, my first conversation, and my first test being an official student of U.A.

Iida and Todoroki decided to use their first names, too. Soon enough, everyone had chosen a hero name, and Midnight left the room. Mr. Aizawa stood up and rubbed his eyes.

"That went well. Now, you will choose your agency you will intern at. I suggest you choose a place that best suits your quick. Such as Asui, since your more built for water, I would suggest choosing an agency that is near or in water."
