"When placed in the path of adversity he has overcome the tasks. He has a temperamental spark that makes him valuable as a test subject, however, this spark can turn into a raging fire if handled incorrectly. Therefore, he is a risk to the company. With the test results being unsubstantial, the board has decided to terminate the experiment."

Orius Brix was in charge of Subject 1-86: a blonde haired young boy with gray-stained eyes. The termination of an experiment was something Brix was becoming unsettlingly familiar with, it was unnerving. The sun was close to setting. Brix had put the assignment off for as long as he could, but now the time has come. Shadows cast down by the fading of the light closed out Brix's expression. That wavering hesitation whispered in the back of his mind. But as quickly as the sun fell, these hesitations too would soon disappear. The intercoms blared their company's motto, "Progress comes through sacrifice. In the name of Aellò Daivat, I would like to thank you for your commitment and dedication to this company."

Brix's hand started to tremble as they drew closer to the edge of the rooftop. The sun reached towards them as it sank to the ground. Brix couldn't bring himself to look towards the Subject.

"What is that? It's so bright."

"You've seen this before, but I guess you wouldn't remember. It's the sun..."-Brixs' heart sank-"Listen, I have one last assignment for you... I need you to catch the sun."

"I can do that?!"

"Yes. If you just keep moving forward." Brix turns away from the edge.

"Well let's go! If we run, we can still catch it."

Brix holds out an arm, blocking the exit.

"There's only one path forward."

The Subject froze. Fear burned into his soul as he turned to the edge. The Subject forced himself to move forward even though his whole body forsook him, willing him to draw back and run.

"I don't get it. Is this another test?" He turned his back away from the edge and gazed at his role model. However, the look in Brixs' eyes was that of a vacant void that could no longer see any light. It was at that moment Subject 1-86 knew without a doubt that this was his final test, and there would be no return.

He was shaken, tears ran down his face as a cold breeze flowed through him. The sight of the ground from a mile away caused him to stiffen.

Brix chants dully, "To hail to the Fang."

The Subject finishes, "One knows pain."

Overrun with emotions the Subject falls faint. The salty mix of tears and sweat rolls off his chin plopping onto the concrete floor. He turns quickly back towards Brix but he loses his foot placement. The Subject stumbles backwards. He reaches for Brix but he is already long out of reach. Air encases the Subject, running past him like needles pushing themselves into his skin. The buildings rise around the Subject as he starts to gather speed. He reaches towards the sun, resisting against the wind with all his might. Just as his hand closes the sun disappears. He smiles and tries to speak but the air swallows his lungs. Mr. Brix. Mr. Brix, I did it! Will this be able to make them happy? A darkness streams towards Subject 1-86. Drops of water follow him down. If that's true, then this isn't such a bad way to go. This is fine because I did all that I could. This is fine. Right? The Subject is knocked unconscious as the darkness surrounds him, closing out the light, raising him into the sky.
