The summer was hot, dizzying, too hot to hunt. It prompted him to lay on his stomach up upon his truck with a pair of enormous wings spread out. He needed it, after all he was cold blooded. Suddenly, the truck gently shook beneath him as he turned his head to lazily gaze at the source with one open eye. He smelled her before she even left the lair. The little human snorted as she lifted a wing, crawling under as he huffed and turned onto his side to open his arms and scoop her up in them, before laying on his stomach once more with her beneath.

"I thought you were hiding out from the heat." The Creeper muttered, lazily stretching out as he yawned. Ash sighed, wrapped in muscle and dampness while pinned beneath a heavily beating heart. A small hand opened his eye as he chuffed and growled.

"I'm so bored pa." Ash dramatically went limp in his arms as Creeper rolled his eyes.

"Find something to do kiddo, you pretty much have my whole workshop to mess with." A chuckle escaped past his grouchy exterior. She shook her head, pressing his cheeks with the palms of her hands, forcing his frown into a smile. Rows of sharp, needle like teeth were exposed as they gleamed in the sunlight. The child could smell a mix of rotten meat and the sweet smell of tobacco upon his breath. She crinkled her face, before letting go with her father's smile disappearing and turning into a light frown. Pa seemed to rarely smile, she thought. Suddenly, Creeper was alert as he raised his head. There were sounds, foot steps below from his perch, someone was stalking them. He growled ferociously as he held what was his protectively and scrambled to catch sight of whoever dared to come close to the monster.

"There you are, I brought back what you asked for and got something special for you."

It was only Darrius, holding a paper bag with what appeared to be a bouquet of flowers jutting out in full bloom. He had that same, goofy grin that the Creeper had grown to adore, and well, it was one of the factors on how Darrius managed to survive. Creeper smiled for real this time as he leapt down with Ash still within his arms, clinging to his chest as wrapped an arm around Darry and gave him a lick across the face. The young man crinkled his nose before laughing, returning the kiss on his chin, where he could reach that is. Sometimes Darry wondered how he went from being on the Creeper's dinner plate, to sharing a life with him. But Creeper could only give the answer, and part of the answer was whining softly that it was too hot.

Once inside, Darrius presented the bouquet to him while he was taking the items out and putting them away in their respective places. "Didn't I already agree to be your husband eight years ago? Humans and their consistent rituals…" Creeper snorted as he took them and looked down fondly at the blossoms, before placing them down on his work table. He gave a satisfied grin as he pulled out a brush from the bag.

"Well yeah, but then again people often bring back flowers for their partners, and well, you're my big Jeepers."

Jeepers, Darry's nickname for Creeper. He snorted as Creeper rolled his eyes and called Ash over to brush out her hair. It was course and white like his own, but she had Darrius's sweet face and eyes….eyes that the Creeper had desired while hunting him down. Currently he was thankful that they were looking up at him. "Darrius, you and I need to talk soon…"

He suddenly said as it took Darry off guard. When the Creeper said those words, it meant something serious. He was always serious. But Darrius was more light hearted than his husband. "Are you finally agreeing to a second child?" He asked as Creeper suddenly froze and shot a glare at him with their daughter's hair up in his hands.

"Now is not the time to ask that question, infact, we need to leave this place."

He growled out as Darry widened his eyes. Creeper said no more, and finished braiding his child's hair before holding her close in his arms, leaning back in the old, worn rocking chair that Darrius had once brought back for him while he was pregnant with Ash. "But why now? Is there something wrong?"

Darry asked as Creeper closed his eyes, seemingly nodding off. But he answered his partner's question in a soft, raspy voice. "You need to see your sister again, I know that you've been yearning for it for years…" Silence filled the room, with only the sound of water gently dripping from the corpses above that made their ceiling. "It will bring you closure, perhaps even bring me it, knowing that the hell I've put you through before is over."

Darry only smiled softly, knowing that his words were true. He grabbed his big hand gently and held it, pressing his lips against it before leaning his head on his chest as he eased himself onto the Creeper's lap as well, sharing it with Ash.

The Creeper couldn't care less if Darry ever saw his sister again, or if he ever had closure. It was a lie to cover up his true intentions for returning to Poho county:

The Creeper wanted to finish what he started.
