What's wrong

-Time skip ( 4 days )-

-Sam's pov-

Kat and y/n had the surgery 4 days ago, thankfully the operation was a success and they were both stable. Kat had woken up the day after the surgery and was in a lot of pain but the doctors gave her some morphine to numb the pain. "Hey babe" I said placing a kiss on Kats cheek, she turned her phone off and placed it on her lap and kissed me on the lips "Hey Sam, how's y/n?" She took my hand and squeezed it tightly.

Kat and y/n couldn't share a room yet but the doctors were thinking about moving y/n to Kat's room today. "She's ok, the doctors said that she is going to take a bit more time to recover due to her stitches, apparently some of the stitches somehow ripped open again and it caused y/n to lose a lot of blood, thankfully she was still asleep".

Y/n was stable but she was still asleep from the operation, the doctors didn't know why she hadn't woken up yet, but as long as she was alive that's all that mattered.

"Has she woken up yet?" Kat asked brushing my hair out of my eyes, "no not yet, but I'll go and talk to the doctors in a minute" she nodded her head and plumped her lips for me to kiss. God I loved her, I let out a little giggle before leaning forward and kissing her back.

Colby was meant to be coming home in 3 days so I figured I would tell him today, I hated lying to him but y/n was right he needed to see his family.

"What are you thinking about?" Kat asked as she rubbed my hand with her thumb "I think I'm going to tell Colby today" she took a deep breath in before placing her free hand on my cheek "I think that's a good idea, he might be mad but he'll understand" I sat there for a minute looking into her eyes and taking in her soft touch before nodding my head and standing up, "I'm gonna go and talk to the doctors about y/n be back soon" I kissed her on the lips before leaving the room.

I walked down the hallway and walked into a room on the left. The lights were off but the blinds were open, the sunlight shone on y/ns features, I was honestly worried because she hadn't woken up yet but I was looking forward to her moving into Kat's room so we could all be together even if she was asleep.

I walked around y/ns bed and sat down on the chair next to it, I sat there and thought about what I would say to Colby. I pulled out my phone to ring him but was stopped when the door opened. It was Dr.Brown, "Hello Dr how are you?" I asked standing up and walking over to shake his hand.

"I'm good thank you, how are you Samuel?" He led me back over to the chair I was previously sat in before he turned and sat in the chair at the end of y/ns bed "I'm ok Dr if I'm being honest I'm sad I miss y/ns voice, and please call me Sam" he briefly looked over to y/n and back at me before flipping a page on his notebook "well Sam I completely understand but there are a few things I want to talk to you about, but first is there any questions you would like to ask?" I leaned forward and twiddled with my thumbs before taking a deep breath "yes there are so many things but Kat and I were wondering when could y/n possibly be moved into Kat's room?"

We sat there in silence for a minute before Dr.Brown sighed and scratched the back of his head "well Sam, the recent test results came back and we now know the reasons why she is still asleep" I felt my heart rate pick up with excitement and fear as I sat forward and played with the sleeves on my hoodie, "the surgery went fine and was a success, the stitches reopening was a small setback to her recovery but they are now healed. The reason that y/n isn't waking up is because she has a blood clot in her brain".

I gasped as my eyes started to water and my hands started to shake, she was like my sister "is she going to die?" I looked over at y/n taking in every little thing about her, scared that I was going to lose her. "It's unlikely, but it's still a possibility, there are however options. We could operate and remove it but that is a very dangerous procedure because it is on her brain, or we could wait and hope it removes itself". I wiped away the tear rolling down my face "how long do you think it would take by itself?" I asked staring at the ground, Dr.Brown stood up and walked over to y/n side "it may take days, weeks or months, we don't know. But to answer your question she can be moved into Kat's room". My heart ached from the bad news but a small smile crept across my face at the fact she was being moved into Kat's room.

"Doctor, could you possibly do me a favour?" Dr.Brown looked up at me with a confused expression "it depends Sam" he folded his arms and stood up straight, "Can you tell Kat please, it will break my heart if I have to tell her and plus I have to make a urgent phone call" Dr.Brown nodded before leaving the room.

I collapsed back into the chair and sobbed, I needed to call Colby now. I stood up and wiped my tears away before walking over to y/n and kissing her on the head "I'm sorry, but I'm here I'll be back soon" I whispered to her, I didn't know if she could hear me but when I said that her hand twitched slightly. I grew with excitement "omg can you hear me?! I'll be back soon I promise I love you" I said before rushing out the room.

I stood outside y/ns room and calmed down before walking down the hallway, and the stairs until I was outside at the entrance of the hospital.

I grabbed my phone out my back pocket and called Colby. "Hey dude what's up?" He asked on the other end "Hey dude, how are you?" I tried to change the subject "I'm good brother my dad has been released from hospital, he's all good now. How's things back there?" I didn't answer because I didn't know what to say, Colby finally broke the silence "Sam what's wrong?!" His voice was full of anger and worry "Kat and y/n were rushed down to the operation theatre Kat's ok but y/n hasn't woken up. It's been 4 days" I heard him gasp loudly "WHAT!? SAM WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?! I'm booking a flight back now" He had never yelled at me like this before so I was kind of shocked "Colby listen, I wanted to tell you I honestly did but y/n made me promise because she wanted you to stay with your family. I hated lying to you, I know I can't stop you from coming back, text me when your flight is and I'll pick you up from the airport." He sighed "I'm sorry for yelling Sam I'll see you soon" I felt a weight lift off my shoulders when he said that "ok see you soon brother" I replied before Colby hung up.

My heart ache as I stood there in the cold as it started to rain.
