I've always wanted "boring". Maybe boring isn't the right word, that suggests something bad, but when I say it here I mean, plain, or normal, or just calm. A boring story, or film, or game. No big plot twists, no sad endings, no moments of suspense. We have enough of that in our own lives. Just for a moment to sit down and find comfort in a fictional character's happiness, with no worry that it's going to go terribly, terribly wrong. To you it mind seem pointless, "what is it about if there's nothing bad?", "how do you even have a plot?". Following a general outline, most books go: introduction, basic plot idea, tension building, peace. Then tension builds again, the big plot point happens, and it ends, either happy or sad. That second increase in tension kills me, they've already found happiness, why can't they just be left alone? I suppose looking more deeply into it this is me just wanting life to be happy, sick of not knowing what's next, when the next bad thing is going to happen. But I've literally stopped reading books because it's reached a happy conclusion but there are twenty chapters left, sometimes it's just nice for it to be over, I'm too tired for another bad thing to happen y'know? I suppose the general idea of "fluff" is just happy moments, but they tend to be one shots, and usually about preexisting people. I want the full shebang, a whole story, original characters, a plot, all of that. Just, happier.
