Spencer's POV
"Ugghh...you have got to be kidding me!" I exclaim as I look at the note in my hand.
"What is it, baby?" Taylor asks. He then notices the note and raises his eyebrows.
"I have to show the new girl around. Why did they pick me?" I whine.
"Oh babe, it can't be that bad." Taylor says as he wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me toward him. We are sitting at the lunch table; neither of us has eaten anything on our lunch trays. The cafeteria is packed with students trying to find a place to sit and eat their lunches or just chat with friends. I just stare at the letter like it is some foreign object I've never seen before. The name on the paper reads: Ashley Denton. I am supposed to meet her after lunch and show her to the rest of her classes.
"I'm going to go to the office, okay baby?" I say as I get up and start toward the doors, not even waiting for a reply from Taylor. I don't get far as two hands stop me and turn me around.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" Taylor questions with a grin.
"I'm sorry! I completely forgot." I say as I tilt my head up and meet his lips. I love the way his lips feel against mine; soft yet rough at the same time. It sends shivers down me just thinking about it. After our lips part, we say goodbye and that we'll text each other after school. I start toward the cafeteria doors, only to have someone stop me yet again.
"What is it this time?" I inquire as I feel myself get a bit annoyed at being stopped for the second time.
"Ummm...I'm sorry to umm...bother you, but are you Spencer Ashlynn?" A voice asks shyly from behind me.
I turn around and feel my body temperature rise about a hundred degrees. There stood the most gorgeous girl I have ever laid eyes on. She's about 5'6"; an inch or so taller than me. She has layered blonde hair with darker natural blonde highlights in her hair; it rests just a little past her shoulders. Her eyes, the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen, are the color of true sapphire. I soon realize I probably look like a moron just staring at her so I quickly nod my head; unable to speak.
"I was just on my way to the office, are you Ashley Denton?"
Ashley's POV
'Holy shit! I never thought I'd get so lucky in my life. This girl is absolutely hot!' I think as I nonchalantly look Spencer up and down. She's a little shorter than me, maybe 5'4" or 5'5". She has silky black hair that stops just past her shoulders. Her eyes are an emerald green that seem to light up her beautiful face.
"Yes, the office said I could find you in here, so I asked around to find who you were." I reply.
"Okay, so what classes do you have after lunch?" Spencer asks.
"Hmmm just a second, let me get my schedule out." I say while I shuffle around in my bag until I find the paper with my classes on it. I hand it to Spencer and she quickly scans it then hands it back to me. When I look at her face, I could have sworn I saw a small smile playing on her lips. I erase that thought; instead I ask her if we can stop at my locker so I can drop my stuff off. She says sure so we start heading for the doors.
"So did you just move here?" Spencer asks as we exit the cafeteria doors into the hallway, which is noticeably quieter.
"Yeah, my mom transferred a few weeks ago and well it landed us here. I totally didn't even want to move, but I had no say in the matter." I say; the last part I said more to myself than to Spencer.
Spencer's POV
I stare at her as she mumbles something I can't really hear. She glances at me and I nod my head in a way that makes her think I understand.
