Make Yourself At Home

I was sat in the car all the way, thinking about how amazing this 4 weeks away from the usual stress was going to be. It was even more amazing that there was twins my age that I could actually make friends with, and maybe we would actually become really good friends and do eachothers hair and makeup and talk about boys.

I got so excited as Sara pulled up outside a massive, beautiful house, just like a mansion.

"wow," i said, and she smiled at me, and as we got out of the car, I heard singing, "whoever singing," i started, "it sounds beautiful,"

"yes," she agreed, "it does, doesn't it. That's my twins," and it was at that second that I realised...

"the twins my age," i questioned, and she nodded her head, "they're boys," i continued and once more she nodded her head smiling, "oh, i thought they were girls."

And as we walked up the garden patio, all I could think was, please dont be annoying, but they were boys. I mean, all boys are annoying, right...

We walked into the house, and Sara shouted up the stairs, "Max, Harvey, here please," and I watched the stairs as two brunette boys, extremely similar in looks came running down the stairs. One was wearing a hat and the other wasn't.

"this is Issabella," Sara started introducing me, "she will be here for 4 weeks, I'll leave you two to introduce yourselfs and show her to her room," she said, and she walked away. We all watched her leave, and then they turned back around, and the one without a hat started to speak.

"im Harvey," he said, holding out his hand, and i shook it, and he then nudged his twin.

"oh, erm, im Max," he said and also held his hand out, which i shook before looking from one to the other, and smiling.

"you two look so much alike," i said, "it's messing with my head,"  and we all laughed.

"yeah," Max said, not sounding so awkward this time, "just remember I'm Max, the one that wears hats, and Harvey doesn't wear hats, and when he does, on very rare occasions, you can't tell us apart,"

"hmm yeah," Harvey started, "apart from the fact that I'm better looking," he said, smiling and winking at me, and i laughed, as Max rolled his eyes.

"anyway," Harvey continued, "let me show you to your room," and i followed him up the stairs as he took the bags and i smiled. He wasn't annoying, he was so sweet. They both were.

We got to the top of the stairs, and a young boy walked out of the bathroom, "hi Leo, you alright," said Harvey, and the little boy nodded, "this is Issy. She's gonna be here for a couple of weeks, say hi," and the boy waved, so i smiled and waved back as we walked away towards another door. "that's our younger brother Leo," Harvey started, "he's only 9,"

"oh," i said, not really knowing how to respond, "your mum said she has 4 children,"

"yep," he nodded, "we have a younger sister too. Little Tilly, she's the youngest. She's only 5,"

"wow, the youngest of 3 older brothers, and the only girl,"

"yep," and we both laughed, "you got any siblings,"

"no," i replied, "I'm an only child,"

"sometimes I wish I was," he said, "they get annoying after a while,"

"you have a beautiful family,"

"yeah, they aren't that bad really," he said smiling, "anyway," he said, opening the door we had been stood infront of, "this is your bedroom. Make yourself at home,"

"thanks," i said smiling, and i walked into my bedroom and shut the door.

I could tell this room had been used many times before, by children maybe even younger than 3, because there was little scribbles on the walls, but it was clear that it always got tidied. There was a double bed against the wall besides the window, and a cot at the other side for when younger children stayed. There was also a small sofa that i could sit on, and a desk with paper, colouring pens, colouring pencils and gel pens, and a wardrobe.

I started to unpack my things, organising all my clothes and putting them in the wardrobe. I moved the art stuff on the desk over, and placed my laptop there aswell as that, and plugged my phone charger in to the plug below the desk, as the battery was very low. I unpacked my make up  bag and hair essentials, and put them in the pull out draw in the wardrobe, and then i threw myself back on the bed, and lay there listening to the silence, apart from the laughter of the family downstairs, and i wished so much that my family were like this.....

Update!! I know its bad, sorry 🥺🥰🙃🙃🙃❤️
