the shots

Its already been two months after the baby has been born and it's that time of the year. Kirishima and you have been debating on who should hold the baby while he gets his shots, and it ended up being Kirishima since he thought you would feel bad and pull the baby away from the nurse when they show the needle. "Alright do you have his pacifier?" you asked while holding Bunji in your arms. Kirishima held it up with his free hand as he had the car keys in the other. "I have it just in case if my little man needs something to suckle on."

Looking at the building you both took a deep breath before walking in. At this time your belly has gotten slightly smaller since Kirishima helped you do some home exercises to pass the time, so walking around in public didn't make you feel as insecure as before. You sat down on the chair with Bunji on your lap as Kirishima went up to the front to sign in for the appointment. The waiting room had a few kids who seemed to be nervous once their names got called out. At this point you were also very nervous. You didn't want to hear/see Bunji in pain when getting his shots. Although, you did know it was important for him and you had to let him get it.

Glancing down you noticed he was smiling up at you which made you feel guilty. His little hand reached out for you, grabbing on the ends of your hair. Not pulling it but just admiring your hair up close. "Ok we are all signed in, now we just wait till his name is called." Kirishima said as he sat down on the chair beside you. Turning your head over to him he could tell you were feeling bad since you had a big frown on your face, "maybe we should wait for him to sleep, so then he doesn't have to feel it."

"It would be a miracle if he fell asleep, he should fall asleep when we want to sleep at night." The red head chuckled, thinking of all the late nights he had to wake up to make the baby fall back to sleep after crying. You nodded slightly to agree with him, "you know I can't help but feel bad, I'm just hoping it's fast and painless." Once you said that a nurse came out from the back door, glancing at her list and called out Bunji's name. The both of you got up and followed the kind nurse to the back for the appointment. "If you guys don't mind we will be taking care of everything in room 3." She pointed at the room to where you both walked inside, seeing a small bed and two chairs.

Kirishima offered you the chair since the other one was for the nurse to use, "thank you." You said before sitting down. The nurse came in, closing the door behind her as she had a small kit with the shots all ready to go. "Ok so I'm guessing you are both here for Bunji's vaccinations?" she started to put on a pair of blue gloves. "Yes thats right, but if you don't mind me asking..how many is he getting?"

"He will be getting five, but we will be using combined formulas for the vaccines so he will just get three shots in total." You looked at kirishima to where he was nervously scratching his neck. You gently handed him the baby, knowing you might jolt out from the chair and run out the building with the baby if you could. Your husband walked over to the nurse as she had a small wipe for the spot she was going to inject the first shot. She wiped a small spot on Benji's arm then grabbed the first needle. At this point kirishima started to feel bad as well since he saw how confused his son looked. As he was nervous he began to bite his bottom lip, spotting how big the needle was.

You covered your eyes not wanting to look as the nurse snapped her fingers to get the babies attention somewhere else. Bunji tilted his head slightly over to where she was snapping and before he looked back the nurse aimed the needle at the spot and as gently as possible gave him the first shot in his arm. Kirishimas eyes widened as he saw the needle go in, the room was then filled with the cries of your baby boy.

"shh don't cry, hey it's almost over buddy." kirishima tried his best to keep the baby from crying, but he knew it wouldn't end till all the shots were over. The nurse put a small band-aid over the spot, reaching over she then grabbed the second needle. As she was working with the other shot you were mentally reminding yourself that everything was okay, that this was all normal. Once the second shot was done the cries got even louder which broke kirishima's and your hearts.

On the final one it was on his other arm, so when it was over the red head put the pacifier in Benji's mouth so he could chew on something to get his mind off the pain. "you were so manly Bunji, don't cry okay? the pain wont last forever." he said as he slowly rocked him side to side. You moved a few of your fingers, peaking at what was going on. letting out a sigh of relief, you smiled at how kirishima was handling things with the baby. the nurse then took off her gloves, throwing them and the empty needles away. "That's all." she smiled at the both of you.

You both thanked her and took another minute to calm the baby down, wiping away his tears so they didn't dry up on his face. "Oh jeez, I felt as if I was the one getting the shots." you got up from your seat as Kirishima kissed Bunji's forehead. "Your mom would probably pass out if she had you in her arms." He whispered to his son, but you still heard him and hit him on the arm.

"No need to point it out." the both of you laughed as the baby smiled finally. You made sure you didn't leave anything behind before leaving the building finally.
