*Sonic's POV*
"Uech blech ack ha ha ugh..." I chose a really bad day to be out on a run. Fall. Autumn... stupid dead leaves flying into my mouth time...
But I didn't have much else to go. Tails just got over a little cough and doesn't want me in his house till everything is clean again.
All my favorite napping spaces are either covered in leaves or the trees from which they came, now without any shade from the sun or shield from the cold.
AND NOW MY RUNNING IS RUINED. Sometimes the ground even slippery from the rain causing me to have some risks while running.
The only place I could think of... is impossible without an invitation. Well... I'm sure she'd let me but that's not really the issue.
Ok... you got me... my pride- cough and shyness cough- won't allow me to ask Amy if I could crash at her place. Let alone seek her out. I hadn't seen her in a while.
Actually I haven't seen Eggy in while either....
Cue the lightbulb going off over my head.

"Amy!" I called out as I knocked on her door.
Awaiting a response or for her to open the door I looked back to Amy's sign.
"The House of Amy Rose~"
A little part of me wondered if she considered getting a new home if I agreed to be with her in the future... hypothetical of course.
"You better not be who I think you are!" I heard a muffled voice behind the door.
'Jeez is that anyway to talk to your true love?' I blushed at that thought.
"Amy? You good in there? I hadn't seen you in days so I thought I'd check up on you." I didn't want to mention Eggman so quickly knowing how she didn't like being described as just a hostage.
"Yeah I'm fine-" She was cut off my a muffled cough.
"Hey! You sick? Lemme' in!"I started jingling the door but Amy was obviously not gonna open it easily. "I'm fine I'm fine, just choked on nothing like the dunce I am eheheh eh..." Her voice wavered and cracked.
I stopped for a moment and looked up with my eyes closed trying to quickly think of a plan. I felt something hit my face. When I opened my eyes the clouds were very dark. My eyes widened as I realized luck may be on my side.
"Well listen, I also kinda need a place to stay dry, Tails won't let me visit."
A silence filled the air despite some rain drops here and there.
