Y'know the term "the devil works harder"

well today Valerie is gonna give him a run for his money.

Too young to drink, Too poor to gamble, and too determined to give up. For as long as she could remember she has had to work for herself. Growing up in the slums of Frona, Valerie has never know what a normal life could be. Thieves, hustlers, and Jokers ruled the streets. the only options for her were to join them or defy all precedents to make her own way in life.

Just like all the unwanted garbage of the city, she was left outside the barrier, tossed away to rot. Why, you ask? Simple. She didn't possess magic. No one on the outside does. Frona is crawling with mages, witches and druids of all kinds. it is a bustling world of magic and wonder- or so the tale goes anyway. It is said that Frona is a Haven for all that live there, no poverty, no thieves or vagabonds. After all, all of them are on the outside.

Of course Valerie only knows of the tales, She cant remember her life before the Slums. Everything she knows came from the Elders.

The Elders are a group of wise, caring men and women that take in all of the cast away children. They give the children shelter, teach them of the ways of life here and give them the love they so desperately need in hopes of giving them a better life. although they have nothing, the Elders give everything they can to keep the children safe until they are strong enough to go out on their own.  Unfortunately this includes explaining why they were gotten rid of in the first place.

According to the Elders, Frona is a magical place full of innovation and whimsy..but it is also full of hatred and bias. The council cannot allow Non magical beings to interfere with their carefully crafted world. Every Child is given five years to taste the life in Frona, but in those years they must show a glimpse of magic. A twinkle in their eye would be enough..but if nothing is shown they are unwanted. they get tossed away and treated like scum.
