-Grace-

I walked a bit away from school and I took up my phone and saw that I’ve got a snapchat from Calum a while ago. I opened it and saw a selfie on him with the caption ‘He’s mine now’. I smiled and the screen and put down my phone again. I began my walk home and stopped at a gas station and bought some chocolate and a coffee. Luckily it was a bit warmer today so I would walk in only my tank top. I’ve walked this this route may, many times before so I almost could walk I with my eyes closed. I put on my headphones and let the music take over my ears and mind. I made it back home about 20 minutes later and sat down on my bed. Four more hours until my mom would come home. I started my computer and scrolled on tumblr for a couple of hours. Once you go on tumblr you’re stuck. I decided to watch a movie and just stay in my bed for the rest of the day. I texted my mom telling I didn’t feel well and got to bed early so I could skip dinner. I sat with my computer until it became dark outside and I got ready for bed and fell asleep.

The rest of the week looked about the same, I got up early and walked to school and went on one or two lectures and then went home and stayed in my room. After I came home on Friday I heard my mom call on me from the kitchen.

”What’s up?” I said and sat down on the chair opposite from her at the dining table. ”We have a thing we have to tell you, but we will wait for Ashton. He said he’ll be here any minute.” She answered. The whole situations was just so weird. After about 10 minutes in silence we heard Ashton walked trough the front door.

”Ashton, dear.” I mom called and Ashton walked into the dining room with a weird look on his face as he saw me sitting there as well. He sat down beside me. ”What’s going on?” He said and looked over to my parents.

”Okay, so the thing is that your dad got a case up north, which will go on for at least a month and I can go with him as his secretary.” She began. My dad was this really good lawyer but never got any cases in my city, didn’t really know why but I think it was because thing never happen here. My mom have worked as different things her whole life and just started as a secretary for the municipality, she liked it but it was a low salary.

”But the thing is that we will be gone for at least a month if we take it. But we don’t really have a choice to be completely honest with you guys. My work doesn’t pay enough for us and since Hank doesn’t get any cases here we need to think outside the box.” She took a short pause and I looked over to dad who hasn’t said anything this whole conversation, he wasn’t really a talkative person.

”We need your help to get this thing to work out for us. We can only take it if you manage to stay here and take care of the house and of each other. We will send you money to buy food and we will pay all the bills from where we’re staying, so you don’t have to worry about that. We really need this guys, I can’t think of an other way to solve our economy. And since you guys aren’t kids any more we though made you can manage it.”

I looked over to Ashton and he had this unreadable face expression so I just down at my lap. I knew that we didn’t have enough money to even stay at his house so I understood they didn’t have a choice. I looked at mom who just stopped her long speech about saving our house.

”You can go, I’ll take care of the house and Grace.” I heard Ashtons voice say and I looked up at him. I didn’t want mom to leave me, she has always been my safety and I loved her so much. To think about living her without her was almost impossible.
