Alena was now lying down on a hospital bed. Several hours had passed from when she first collapsed.

Aria was sitting on a chair next to the bed, scrolling on her phone. Her eyes tiredly scanned over the news headlines and noting important things.

Cain Arthur had came out as another powerhouse. He has cleaned up 3 gates on his own in a single day.

The other successors, Leticia and Maria's exact whereabouts was still unknown.

"Big sister..." Alena weakly spoke.

"!" Aria jumped a little bit. She was deep in thought over other matters and did not expect Alena to suddenly wake up.

"You're awake. I'm deeply sorry for implicating you without prior knowledge of your condition," Aria readily got up and bowed.

Alena was innocent. She did not deserve to suffer just for her silly experiment.

"No... It's just a trauma of mine. In fact, after I got contracted by the Tower, I think the severity has lessened. It's only been several hours, no?" Alena got up and rubbed her head.

"Are you comfortable with telling me the reason?" Aria asked solemnly.

Alena hesitantly smiled.

"It's not anything special... It's just that, I was tortured for about 5 months in captivity when I was 5 or so,"

"Not anything special?! You-"

"It really isn't. You see, the culprit has already been dealt with and the suffering he faced was much more painful than what I got. It's just that his body gave up in the end, while I have to deal with a trauma," Alena lifted up her hand. It was shaking.

"A trauma.. What exactly are you scared of?"

"Everything. My body rejects pain itself. When I get injured, I suffer panic attacks, to the point of suffocation or even temporary comatose. Blood is fine. The reaction to the injury the blood comes out from is not," Alena elaborated further.

"Pain.. Wait a minute," Aria began swiping and touching the air. She didn't mind that Alena was present, because she already knew that Aria's gimmick also had a system shop.

"Sister, why bother-"

"Found it!" Aria's fingers swiped and clicked on some imaginary buttons. Only she could hear the system notifications ringing over and over again to make sure she really did want to buy the aforementioned item.

[50.000 SP has been deducted for <Receptor Blocker>.]

When Aria saw this item, she could only think up of one thing.

Something equivalent to a painkiller on steroids.

You will indeed block everything, but you will lose your other senses along with it.

It might not be the best solution to Alena's condition, but it was a temporary fix at the very least.

Since Aria had confirmed that the System's items could be used on someone else as lomg as they were in a party, Aria did not hesitate and directly gave it to Alena.

She was very excited to see how Alena could grow in the future.

50.000 SP for such an investment could not be considered a loss on her side.

"Big sister..."

"Actually, just call me Aria at other times. It feels strange being called big sister over and over again," Aria did not really care about honorifics and other things like that.
