Jessie Barnes ~ Bucky Barnes sister

23:35, 4th March 1922.

"One last push" the doctors said and then the baby cries filled the empty hallways.

"Congratulations Mrs Barnes, what is the name of your baby daughter?" The doctor asked

"Jessica Lucy Barnes" she said as tears of joy fell down her face as she picked up her baby girl and smiled
"James, come meet your sister" she said and he walked in slowly.

"She is small" he said and she laughed

"Can you promise me something?" She asked and he nodded
"Protect your baby sister for the rest of your life James, she will need you"

1936 ~ Steve's mothers funeral

The three had known each other for a fair few years now and got along amazingly like 3 siblings. The two had walked with Steve to the church

"Im so sorry Steve" Jessica said and hugged her brothers best friend. He smiled and nodded

"Thanks Jessie" He smiled and the three sat down together as the ceremony started. Jessica kept hugging Steve and held his hand in comfort they all had a group hug as everyone said their condolences to him

"You capable of walking home alone Jess? I wanna take him back or try convince him to come home with me" her brother said

"I'll be fine, be careful" Jessica smiled and kissed his cheek and she walked home and waited for her brother and Steve to come home

~1943~

Jessica finished her shift at a local cafe before she headed home to her apartment. She took the old key out her pocket and unlocked her door to see a letter on the floor. She dropped the groceries she picked up on the way home on the sofa and read it after pushing her brown locks aside.
"Shit" she murmured

"Heard that one Jess" Bucky said from the front door

"Sorry Buck" Jessie giggled and noticed his smile
"What have you done?" She asked and saw the note in his pocket before she then saw the rest of the uniform.

"I got in" he said and showed it to Jessie. She laughed and hugged him

"Well done... what about Steve?" She asked

"Haven't told him yet, he's at some movie theater right now" Bucky explained

"Let's go see him" Jessie said and threw her letter into the fire pit.

"You didn't need that right?" Bucky asked

"It was my ex so no" Jessie laughed and the two made their way down to the theatre. Jessie heard something down the Alley

"I can do this all day" from Steve. Jessie knew instantly so she ran down it and saw Steve getting beaten up

"Leave him alone" she yelled and kicked the man. He got up and was about to slap Jessie around the face but Bucky grabbed his arm and glared deadly at him

"Pick on someone your own size, let alone a lady" Bucky said and threw him backwards. The man swung at Buck but he dodged it and punched him back while Jessie helped Steve get up. Buck kicked the mans ass, only leaving him to run off before came back to the two in the corner.
"Sometimes I think you like getting punched" Bucky said and Jessie rolled her eyes.

"I had him on the ropes" Steve said wiping the blood of his face.

"How many times is this?" Bucky asked as Jessie picked up Steve's form for the army.

"Oh you're from Paramus now?" Jessie said sarcastically with a giggle in her tone

"You know it is illegal to lie on the enlistment form" Bucky said and Steve just gave a slight look, knowing the two Barnes were gonna win this argument.
