Dedication
This is dedicated to all my friends. When you get older, do NOT any under circumstances Drink and Drive. As this can lead to deaths, injuries, or shattered dreams.
“Ms. Harris, I’m going to ask you again what happened?”
“I, I didn’t mean to do any of this. I just lost control…”
“All I need to know is if you caused all of this.”
“I believe I didn’t.”
“Can you tell me the sequence of events that happened this evening?”
Well, as that would be hard. My name is Fallon Harris and up until now, I lived a normal average life. Behavior, good. Social life, good. Grades… decent, but you get what I mean. So yesterday was as I call it, “Prom Night Eve”. Whoop dee do. But me, I’m not the dressy type so I decided to stay back and go to a party. (Such a bad idea right about now). Now I get what you’re thinking, you think I got into some trouble like murder or even worse, but that's not what happened at all. Okay now for a flashback;
“Fallon, you need to let loose. Just one?” Said Tyler, a careless ‘I don't care, I'm going to fail anyway’ typical student.
Me of course suggested, “No, no.”
But, he wouldn’t stop annoying me. He followed me around until I would get the drink so to get him off my back, I just took it. I didn’t drink it though. I just opened it, and let it drip onto the couch until it was noticeable and someone thought it was Jeremy一 again. But then since everyone thought I had drunk it and liked it, they just kept coming until I decided “One shouldn’t hurt me”. I took a sip. Then another. It had a strong taste to it, but it was manageable. By the time I could think, the can was already empty. I needed another. And another. Then two more this time. Then maybe just that three more that was probably six. I had completely lost it. I played games, flipped off of the couch, and finally after about three hours past out. When I woke up, it was Emily saying how her parents would be home in two hours or less. So, I just left. I could drive, I know it. I was just a little tipsy, that’s all. I grabbed my keys and left.
Just for my own protection, I took the streets, but then it just happened... I wasn’t looking. BANG! I drove right into the left side of a Red car.
……….
I woke up to a ringing sound from my car. I could hear screaming and everything. My body ached all over. I could move but was bruised and felt blood on my head. I got out of my car and was astonished from what I had seen; Prom nighters. It was that Nerd named Cassie and the Basketball Star named Trey. Cassie was the one screaming, Trey stood still eyes closed major bleeding. I had knew that it was time to call the police but someone had already done that.
……….
It had took a while, but they were out of the wrecked vehicle. Trey was pronounced dead at the scene and Cassie was immediately tooken to the hospital and now, the police were focused on me. They ran tests. And could see I was drunk. It was ruled as a D.U.I. and I was taken to jail.
“Miss? Come back to Earth please. Can you tell me the sequence of events that happened this evening?”
I told her. She believed me. I was sent to prison. For six months. I got out when I was 19. Then sent back because of being sued. I finally was done with jail at 21. Afterwards I because, my parents were so angried with me had to pay a fine. I was so disappointed with myself. Never graduated with my friends. Killed one person and paralyzed another for life. I took their dreams. I can never take that back there is no reset button in life. So please listen to this lesson and listen well… DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE. Because if you do, your life and dreams can and or will be Shattered.
