Paul's POV:

Looking smart in his officer uniform made him feel proud of his achievements especially looking at the medals on his chest which spoke of his high rank in the police force,it had not come easy but he had earned it,every single one of them.

He understood all too well,the need for justice in a state and generally in a country was,ohh he knew too much ,he had not been raised with any spoon in his mouth at all,he mused.
Well his father had never been there as far back as he could remember the little memory he had of him was as a drunkard who came home once in a while and who always seemsd to spoil any semblance of peace he felt not that there was one to start with.

His mother was a non-challant woman who just did not care to bother about a child whose father had not treated her good any day of her life and she made sure she let him know.
As little as he was he tried to make her happy,was always quick to complete the house chores and assist her whenever she needed help,this did little to appease her as any opportunity she had she beat him to a pulp and then rounded it up with curses ,that was how he thought he was to  grow up until. ....
  His mother died in a car accident when she was coming back from big market(as he used to call it then),his drunkard of a father was actually sober for once he was amazed to see that but with it came news of his mother's death,he wailed heavily screaming on top of his lungs, neighbors had to come call him down,even if she wasn't the best of mother's she was his mother.

Soon after she died and was buried,his father packed all his belongings and left. He left his 11 years old son to die or fend for himself .
At first,neighbors tried to help putting in the little they could,inviting him for meals but it soon became glaring that they couldn't do it for a long time considering that they themselves had little to eat.

They waited expectantly for his father to come for him or even one of his mother's family but no one came....
