Eliza Starts to show me around the village and she's kinda a cool guide. She shows me the rural school where she has been teaching kids of primary level.
She tells me that she wants to spend her entire life here teaching for free.
“ you know I started teaching after I graduated from high school last year, since I can't continue further with my studies i decided to help those who want to learn " she tells me.
“why is it that you can't continue with your studies? " I ask her
“long story " she sighs.
“you know you can even get a scholarship and go to study at any university for free, since you have A grade"
“I also wanted to apply for the scholarship but I can't. There's some family issues which are hindering me from studying further" she finishes.
“ ohhhh, I hope things work out for you" I tell her.
“ By the way that's my home.” Eliza points at two huts on my left side. “ I sleep in that one while my dad stays in that big one "
“ Don't you have any other family member ?” I ask
“ Noo , my mom passed away when i was 11 and I have no siblings since my mom always had miscarriages"
“sorry about that " I clearly felt sorry for her.
We reach the end of the village but Eliza keeps on walking, “ let me show you the river " she tells me. We walk inside a green forest which has a path.
After some minutes the river comes into view. And as usual I take a photo.
“ This is my favorite place in the village” Eliza announces.
She sits on a rock just besides the river and starts throwing small stones inside the water.
“ By the way when it's too hot you can just come here and jump into the water ” she says looking at me with her face tilted upwards to me since I was standing.
“ Are there no crocodiles inside? ”I ask. “ No, there are no crocodiles on this side since the waters are shallow here "
I sit on a rock next to her and I start to enjoy the cool breeze.
I look at Eliza and she looks like she's in another world. She looks lost in her own thoughts looking straight into the waters.
I sit still, not wanting to disturb her peaceful moment at all.We sit for almost half an hour in silence. I break the silence by telling her that the sun is setting.
“ Oh yh sorry" she says in almost a wisper
“ It's ok, i was infact enjoying the tranquility here” I tell her.
“ can you remember the way back to the village? She asks.“ yh" I answered. I was actually unsure of my answer.
“ Then please go back on your own, I will see you later at super.”
“ Maybe she wants to be alone or she was meeting with someone " I thought to myself. As I walked to the path in the forest, I realized it was really dark. I checked my clock and it was just ten minutes to six.
I decided it wasn't a cool idea to leave Eliza all by herself, she could be attacked or anything worst could happen.
So I decide to go back for her. As I approached her she stands up and starts to unzip her dress. I froze and didn't take the next step. “ she probably wants to swim " I thought to myself.
She removes her dress and puts it on the rock she was sitting on. I take back a few steps and stand by a tree. I stand at a position that she cannot see me.
