You were dating the boy, known in your town of Bradford, as the Bradford Bad Boi. His name was Zayn Malik. Your dad was rather high up in society and had high expectations of you and was always trying to set you up with lawyers and people in his world, but you’d fallen for the bad boy of the town, known for having a gun, being a part of one of the worst gangs, his tattoos, his drinking, and also the fact that he’d never had a girlfriend. Until he met you.
You saw him in school and you became captivated by him. He was mystical and mysterious, no one knew much about him, but stories about him ran wild. Stories that he had killed people and did drugs and partied every night and that he was a horrible student. Then you actually met him. The two of you were in History together and he got moved away from his friends and got seated next to you. When you two were paired up for an assignment, you went to his house to work.
FLASHBACK----
“Just put your stuff anywhere,” he said as he showed you to his room.
“Ok,” you nodded. One wall of his room was a giant bookcase, filled with books. “These all yours?” you asked.
“Ummm yeah. I like to read,” he replied. You walked over and had a look at the books.
“You’ve got some real classics here. Jane Austen, Louisa M Alcott, Charles Dickens, Shakespeare, Nathaniel Hawthorne, even Herman Melville...”
“You like those authors?” he asked you. You turned around and saw he was standing next to you.
“I do. I love reading the classics. Like ‘Pride & Prejudice’... I don’t know how many times I’ve read that book. And ‘Little Women’.”
“Never would’ve picked you for a classics girl.”
“Well I never would’ve picked you for a classics guy,” you answered smartly.
“Well played Y/N,” he replied with a chuckle.
“Thanks.”
“So Nazi Germany... where do we start? There’s so much to cover.”
“I know... everything from like...”
“1919-1945,” you both said at the same time. “Treaty of Versailles to end of World War II,” you said in unison again.
“And even before that,” you added.
“Franco-Prussian War,” he replied.
“Alsace-Lorraine,” you both said in time again, the two of you blushing as you both looked away.
“And Kaiser Wilhelm the first,” Zayn chimed in.
“And then Kaiser Wilhelm the second, where Germany fell down.”
“Lead up to World War I.”
“And then armistice.”
“Well at least we know what we’re talking about,” Zayn concluded. You chuckled softly to yourself.
“Yeah. We definitely seem to.”
“Well you sit down and I’ll go grab my history books,” he said, rushing off. When he came back he was carrying two textbooks, his notebook but something that astonished you even more. He was wearing glasses. You decided not to say anything about it.
