"WILL I LIVE?""Ma'am, I—"
"Just tell me, honestly, will I live? No— I want you to look me in the eye and say it. If I really am dying and you lie to me, remember that you'll be lying to a dying woman."
The nurse stood there, silent with pursed lips. But she didn't need to say anything. The screaming, loud, noisy, silence told the patient all she needed to know, and she was satisified.
"I want the lights to leave my eyes, as I watch upon my children. Bring them here." The patient said, referring to her new born twins.
The nurse sighed sadly, and the stool creaked as she got up from it, and took the two babies in her arms, to give to their mother. She brought the children to the bed of the mother, and left them in her arms.
"She smells of jasmine." The patient smiled at her daughter.
"The older one is the boy, and the younger one is the girl," The nurse said, "they're beautiful. What do you want to name them?"
"I'll name the boy Tom Marvolo Riddle. Tom after his father, who's just as handsome as my little boy seems to be, and Marvolo after his grandfather, my own father." she smiled at the boy in her arms, and turned her attention to her daughter, "And I'll name her Jasmine Merope Riddle. Jasmine, after the first smell that emitted from her body, and Merope, so that she will carry her mother's name."
Merope barely pronounced the last word, when her arms started deopping, and her eyes diverted to the ceiling, and stopped at place. She had died.
The nurse sighed and took the children, "It pains me to send these beautiful children to the orpahnage." she picked up the telephone, and dialled a nunber, "Hello, is this Wool's orpahange? Yes, I want to admit two children— twins. No, their father is alive, but he has left the mother alone— no, no. No, he wouldn't take them. Yes, a boy and a girl— Tom Marvolo Riddle, and Jasmine Merope Riddle. Yes, the mother is a Gaunt. Okay, ten minutes? Yes, okay."
The nurse turned to face the kids. She thought she saw the boy's eyes open suddenly, and open seeing that she was watching, and close. She squinted harder, but he seemed to be sleeping. She tapped her forehead, she must be getting tired if she saw a newborn baby open his eyes.
She put them back in their bed, away from their now dead mother's arms, and closed the light. She was about to leave, when she thought she saw a flash of bright green light. She switched back on the light at once, but she was confused and frustrated to see, that there was absolutely nothing. Everything in the room was just the way it had been, yet she was sure she had seen the green light. She shook her head, and went outside, to splash a bucket of water on her face.
But what the nurse didn't see, was the baby boy sitting up, with his eyes open, and stare at the corpse of his own mother in a disgusted, disdainful way, and silently vowing to himself that he would never be as weak as her, to die. Dying was for the week. And he was strong. He was different. He was special.
A/N: Hey guys! So the prologue is out! Hope you guys like the story so far! I've got many things planned for this story. It's really short, but I promise, that the other chapters won't be as short as this. Quite the contrary, they will be the double of this!
