Juliet's point of view
-

It was around 4:00pm and Carter would be here in little over an hour.

I began to start getting ready.

I decided I wanted to dress nicely to try and impress Carter.

I walked to my closet and began to looked through my clothing.

"Ugh! Why don't I own anything nice!" I groaned.

My eyes lit up as I came across the perfect outfit.

I picked out a black laced crop top and a sun flower printed high waisted skirt.

I topped the outfit off with black combat boots.

I walked into the bathroom just outside of my room and began to do my makeup and hair.

After taking a good amount of time on my makeup it was time to do my hair.

I took out my straightener and began to straighten my hair the best I could.

By the time I finished getting ready it was 5:15pm and Carter would be over any minute.

I went back in my room and grabbed my phone.

After grabbing my phone I quickly made my way downstairs to where my dad was, my mom must be making dinner.

I sat down next to my dad while we waited for Carter to come.

I looked over at my dad concentrating on his phone.

"Whatcha looking at?" I asked trying to sneak a look at his phone.

"Carter Reynolds is your boyfriend right?" He asked looking up from his phone to face me.

"Yeah....?" I asked confused at what he was going to say.

"By looking at the videos he posts on what you teens call vine, I don't think he is a good influence on you." He spoke sternly.

"But I will meet him tonight and see how he acts towards you but I will say this, I do not approve of his videos he posts." He finished and looked back at his phone.

"He could be posting worse." I said rolling my eyes at him.

I honestly don't see the big deal about what Carters posting, he's a teenager it's nothing new, teens just do dumb things, It's pretty normal.

After a few moments of silence the door bell rang.

I stood up and quickly made my way to the door.

I sighed loudly.

This is gonna be a long night.

I opened the door and was greeted by a Carter Reynolds holding a giant bouquet of roses.

"Hey." He smiled a bright smile.

"Hi." I smiled back a friendly smile.

"These are for you." He handed me the bouquet.

"Thank you." I gave him a short hug before moving out of the way so he could walk in.

I shut the door after Carter walked inside.

Both of my parents walked towards Carter.

My mom had a huge smile on her face, my dad on the other hand was frowning majorly.

"Awe, you got he flowers! How cute!" My spoke in a very happy tone.

"Mom, Dad, this is Carter my boyfriend." I pointed at Carter.

"Hi Carter, I'm Angela and this is my husband Richard." My mom greeted with a huge smile plastered on her face.

"It's nice to meet you Mrs and Mr Bennett." Carter greeted reaching out his hand to shake my parents hands.

My dad shook Carters hand still with a non friendly look on his face.

Instead of a hand shake my mom pulled Carter in for a hug.

I laughed at Carter due to him being caught off guard.

After a few moments of my parents and Carter getting to know each other it was time to eat.

We sat at the table with me an Carter sitting across from my mom and dad.

Luckily my little sister April was having a play date at her friends so she wasn't here to meet Carter.

Surprisingly the dinner wasn't as awkward as I thought it would be.

It just consisted of Carter telling my parents about himself, his vines, where he's from and basic things like that.

It was now around 7:30 and Carter was about to leave.

He said goodbye to my parents and walked towards the door with me.

"Thanks for coming I really appreciate this." I gave Carter a quick kiss on the cheek.

"No problem, I actually enjoyed myself, I'll see you later beautiful." Carter said kissing my forehead before leaving.

Once Carter left I made my way over to the kitchen to where both of my parents were sitting at the kitchen table.

"So, do you like him?" I asked my parents as I leaned against our kitchen counter.

"Mom first." I quickly added already knowing what my dad would say.

"I think he is a gentlemen and I approve of him." She spoke softly with a smile shining on her face.

"Dads turn." I groaned.

"I also think he is a gentlemen and treats you right but something about him gives me a bad vibe, I want you to get to know him more before you really get into things. Just make sure you don't let him play you, Juliet." He spoke semi stern.

I was actually very surprised, I was expecting a long lecture of my dad saying how much he hates Carter.

I nodded and quickly pulled him in for a hug.

I was gonna stick up for Carter and say he wasn't gonna play me but one, I don't want to start a fight and two what if my dad was right? Would Carter play me?

I shook the thought out of my head and decided I would go upstairs and sleep, because sleeps the answer to everything.
