Prologue -
Everywhere I look there are lights; bright, brilliant, lights.
In the city of Tokyo, Japan, I am surrounded by buildings, people, and lanterns that shine beautifully. No matter where I turn my head, my eyes are met with their rays of hope.
For so long I've been trapped in darkness, but now, in this moment and in this place, I can finally breathe.
Traveling across an entire continent for just one guy may seem excessive, but it wasn't done for just any guy; it was done for Elliot. Everything we've been through together and everything he's ever done for me comes rushing back, tearing at my heart in gruesome ways.
So closing my tear-filled eyes and breathing in deeply, I allow the memories to flood my mind and take over.
I owe him that much.
