Rebecca'.s POV
It was 9:00pm, August 15. The first day of junior year was in three days, and I was leaving on the plane today for London. My plane leaves at 11:00, and the airport was a good half hour away. When I got on my plane, there was still about another 30 minutes before the flight took off, so I relaxed and put in my headphones to listen to a peice I was trying to learn on the violin. I let the music fill my ears, and became very peaceful and soon fell asleep. I woke up 6 hours later and we still had an hour and a half till we were in London, so I put my headphones back in and drew for the next hour. Even though I was going to a school for the musically gifted, I was still really good at drawing. My flight landed, and everybody got off the plane and I had to wait for my luggage in Baggage Claim. When I was leaving the airport, because had crossed time zones, it was now 5am, and it was time for me to check into my room at campus. First I had to go to the main office and get my schedule, that also had my room number and the name of the resident that runs that house. My room number was 814 and the Resident was Miss. Jackson. I actually had Miss. Jackson for all core classes, and for vocal music, and music history 101. Since I still had two days before school starts that means I have time to go unpack my stuff in my dorm room. When I got to my room I inserted my key and opened it up to find another girl there too.
"Hi, I'm Rebecca." I introduced myself
"Hey, I'm Abbey-Rose"
We decided that we were going to go get some lunch later together, and I knew we were going to become the best of friends. I unpacked my stuff, then walked around campus trying to figure out where everything was. I was walking around a corner when suddenly I bumped into someone. I looked up to apologizes, but lost every trace of thought.
"I'm sorry, it was my fault, I wasn't watching when I was going." she said.
"No your fine, no harm no foul done, I'm new here and I'm trying to find my way around before classes start." I replied
"Me too, My name is Amanda, Amanda Jackson, and you?" she reached out her hand and I shook it.
"I am Rebecca, Rebecca Sheilds, are you a teacher? I think I have you for almost all my classes." I asked
"Indeed I am, I am teaching Vocal Music and Music History 101." she informed me
"You are also my Resident." I stated "what room number?" she asked "814." I replied
"Your room is just down the hall from mine, so don't get in too much trouble because your only a few feet away." she joked.
"Can't promise you that I'm a party girl." I laughed holding up my Ipod to show her I was listening to Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. We chat for a little while longer, then part ways, and I notice that if I don't hurry, I'm going to be late to lunch with Abbey-Rose. When I finally got there, Abbey-Rose was waiting for me
"Hey, sorry I'm late." I said "I ran into one of the new teachers, and we started talking, and I lost track of time."
"You're fine, I got here a little early." she replied
"So, what are you here for? Vocal, Instrumental, both?" I questioned
"I'm here for both. I sing and play cello, and flute." she replied
"That's awesome! I do vocal, and strings, but I'm also taking a music history class." I said
We ended up talking for hours I found out a lot about her, she loves cats, and I mean LOVES CATS, she is an only child, her favorite color is purple, she and her current boyfriend have been dating since 7th grade, and her favorite bands are Nirvana, Rise Against, and Cake. She lived with her mom till she moved here, her favorite TV shows are Friends, Doctor Who, and most of X-Files. She loves to watch scary movies, and her favorite thing to do in her free time is listen to music and to talk to her boyfriend.
We got back to the dorm. It was almost 8:00, and we were both really tired and went to sleep, but not before I texted my mom, and told her about today, as I started to think about my day, I thought about Miss. Jackson, and how pretty, sweet, and funny she was, and I knew I was gonna have a blast having her as my teacher 6 out of the 7 hours of the day.
