Chapter 5

It's been a two months since Archie and I had that conversation. Chris is always flirting with me. I think he likes me and I like him too. I don't want to get hurt like I did with Archie. I don't see how we ended like that when we were best friends before we were a couple.

I'm walking in the hall and I see Chris at the lockers. "Hey, baby girl" he says with a smirk. I don't know why my heart starts to beat faster. "Hey Chris" I say smiling. "I can't wait to see you cheering me on tonight." he smirks. "And I can't wait to see you make touchdowns." I flirt back. "Only for you baby." he says.

He starts to walk me to my last class and I see Archie and Evelyn kissing. He see me and stop and run towards me. "Wait Ronnie I can explain" he rush out.

" There is nothing to explain Archie. You and I broke up. Just make sure you don't let her come between our friendship like it did our relationship. Okay? Okay." I say and he just nodded his head.

"So Archie is your ex?" Chris asked. "Yeah we dated" I respond. "How long you dated?" he asked. "A little over a year" I respond. "Oh you guys broke up recently?" he asked. "Umm . . . sort of" I respond. Then I felt Chris tense and stop walking. I turned around and looked at him .

"Do you still have feelings for him?" he asked before the bell ringed. "No! I'll tell you everything that happened after the game. At Pops?" I asked. "Sure, whatever Veronica" he snapped and walked away. I was confused but went onto class.

Later on walking out the locker room I bump into Chris on a accident again. "I'm sorry" I say to him. I began to walk away until him called my name.

He jog up to me and pull me into a hug. " No I'm sorry Veronica. I've never acted this way before. You bring out a new side of me. I didn't mean to get upset like that. I never have gotten upset over a girl at my old school. I was a player that got bored quickly. I didn't care if someone broke up with me because I knew I could have another girlfriend by the end of the week. Even all of those girlfriends was just for pleasure. I never have met someone like you. It's so different with you. Just your smile can brighten up my day. I always have the urge to make you smile, just to hug you, even kiss you but I've been fighting it and it kills me. You are so fucking adorable and it's the small things you do like walk with your head up, the way you always make noise when you drink pop's milkshake, your laugh, and it's so much more. I like you a lot Veronica. I care about you so much and we haven't even went on a date yet. I know I was being an idiot , but can you please go on a date with me?" he asked. "I would love too." I said while I reached up to hug him.

When I pulled away we caught each other eyes. We stared into each other eyes for a long time before he leaned in. Before our lips could touch he stopped. "I really want to kiss you, can I ?" he asked while staring .

As soon as I nodded our lips touch and I swear fireworks went off. He deepened by pulling me closer. I ran my hands in his hair and pulled it. He ran his tongue against my lip and I gladly gave him access. We kissed until we ran out of breathe. He rested his head on mines and stared in my eyes. His eyes were a gorgeous brown. "You're driving me crazy babygirl" he said smiling. I smiled back.

"Wright it's time to go" a player yelled. He nodded and turn to me and said "wish me luck". I close the gap and gave him a lot of pecks and told him good luck and then ran to the field.

The game has started and we got the ball first. We are on the fifty yard line, 3rd and 5. The defense break down the offensive lineman and run towards Archie and he puts a spin move on him and runs out of the pocket . He see Chris open but gets hit while passing the ball and it cause him to over throw it .Wright jump and snagged it out the air with one hand. (Like in the video above) The crowd went crazy and when he scored a touchdown he winked at me.

He went on defense and tackle the running back in 2nd 20. Now it's 3rd and 5. The quarterback threw the ball and Chris caught the ball and scored.We won the game 56-14.

After the game, I waited in the parking lot for Chris. Archie walked up to me. "Hey Ronnie" he said. " Hey Archie, good game." He told me thank you before I heard someone cleared their throat. I turned around to see Chris looking upset. "I'm ready" he said glaring. I told him okay and sent Archie an apologetic look.

We went to his car and I got in. He grabbed the steering wheel tight. "What's wrong Chris ?" I asked. Nothing he responded dryly. We pulled up at pops and sat in the car.

"I know when something  is wrong with you." I told him. "Fine Ronnie, when I walked out the locker room ,ready to go celebrate with my girl, and I see him talking to you. So yeah I'm mad and jealous." he said. "Your girl huh?" he said smiling. "Yeah my girl" he said with a smirk.

I got up and sat by him and looked at him in the eye. "It's no need to be jealous. Archie and I have a lot of history but that's what it is, history. You can ask me any questions about it and I will tell you. Plus it's no need for you to be jealous because he doesn't have me. " I said leaning in to kiss him. He let me take control. It started off soft and hot but it turned into quick and determine kiss.

We pulled away breathing hard. "I must say, you look hot when you're jealous." I said and he laughed.

We got out of the car and walked in Pops. "I'll be back , I have to use the bathroom." I said as he sat down. I go use the bathroom and come back out. I see a girl sitting at the table.

Chris can't see me though. I heard him say I have a girl. "I don't see her" the girl said. "Look up" I replied she looked at and rolled her eyes.

"You sure you don't want my number?" she asked him. " Bitch get the fuck on" she got up and left. He smirked at me amused.

" What? I hate when hoes act disrespectful like that. You know he's with me. Why are you playing dumb" I say mad. " You're right it does look sexy when you're mad." the food pops brought the food. I looked confused.

"I ordered when you went to the bathroom." he said. I smiled. "I'm sorry but I can't get it out of my head. Why I asked you if you still like Archie, you hesitated? What happened? How serious where y'all? " he asked.

" It's ok I would be the same way probably. I don't have feelings for Archie anymore. I lived in New York before here. When we moved down for the summer before freshman year we started dating." I said.

"I keep forgetting you're a New Yorker." Chris said laughing. " Not too much" I smiled. "Archie and I were in love and we were the it couple. Almost every girl at Riverdale high wants him and he would tell me the same but I didn't believe it. Then few months before school ended Evelyn moved back. "

Archie told me that they were old best friends but I found out they were ex lovers. She would flirt with him and touch him and he would let her. I confronted him about it and he caught an attitude at first until I told him to give me space. She kept trying to kiss him and at first he would stop her."

She kept disrespecting me so I beat her ass and I got suspended for four days. I guess they made up and became friends again but I still didn't like her. She tried to apologize and I told her it was cool but to keep her distance. He started fussing with me and that hurt so I walked away. "

"At lunch she kissed him and he laughed. When he seen me he told me that Betty told her that he only lets me kiss him and Evelyn told her to watch. The point is that she felt comfortable to do it. So I broke up with and went back to New York for the summer." I said.

"Wow I can't believe he did you like that. She tried to flirt with me when I got here but somebody already caught my eye." I smiled. "Oh she must be a lucky girl." I said. "Nah I'm the lucky one." he responded. He payed and we drove to my house.

"Thank Chris I had a great time" I said before I kissed him. " You're welcome baby girl but willyoubemygirlfriend?" he asked. "What did you say" I asked. "Will you be my girlfriend?" he asked. "Yes I would love to. I responded and kissed him. I went in Pembrooke after we told each other goodnight.
