1. New Temporary Home

Bored. That's what Kanna Mizuno felt as she sat on the bus, maybe a bit scared, saddened too by leaving her parents. The first year of college, an important moment in most adults' lives. The partying and the student loans mostly but, Kanna just sighed and looked out the window. For the past hour, she has felt nothing but sheer boredom. Checking her watch now and then to see how long it's been since her departure. Her hand watch's time currently reading at 7:48 pm. The only real thing to look forward to was going to the same school as her best friend and her girlfriend. And probably not going to another school for the rest of her life afterward. As the bus screeched to a halt, she smiled. As she grabbed her bags, she thought about the thing that had plagued her mind since she left, her girlfriend. It had only been 4 months since she and Chihiro had been a couple finally, after knowing each other since middle school, but it still didn't' even feel real to her. She steps down the steps and drags her luggage with her, entering the place she'd be staying for the next few years of studying. Her new temporary home, a college dormitory.
Kanna's first night in her dorm wasn't as bad as she thought it would be, but that was likely the cause of her girlfriend visiting her with reassuring hugs, some help with unpacking her luggage, and food that Kanna assumed was bought from a fast-food restaurant nearby. The next few days were days Kanna looked forward to. Due to her arriving a few days earlier than when her classes were supposed to start, she plans to spend these days by meeting new people around the campus and spending time with the love of her life and her best friend! There was almost nothing more she could ask for! Today she'd be spending hopefully the majority of her day hanging out with Chihiro and Takashi before they all get bombarded with work.
It was 10:30 am when Kanna was just getting ready to go see Chihiro. While sitting at her excuse of a dining table eating some pretty badly made scrambled eggs and toast, she heard rapid knocking on her door, soon followed by the muffled sounds of what she made out to be "Hurry up!" She obliged, hurrying towards the door, nearly knocking her breakfast off the table to see who it was. "I was just about to go to your dorm!" Kanna said right after jumping at her girlfriend with a welcoming hug. Chihiro chuckled a lighthearted laugh at what her girlfriend just said while returning her hug. Replying with "Kanna-Chan, you don't even know my dorm number, or even what floor I'm on!" They both pulled away from the hug and Kanna made a face where her mouth formed an 'o' shape as if saying "oh, I forgot to ask!" Chihiro's face fell a bit as they continued talking "Anyways, I came over coz' you weren't responding to any of my texts, I got a bit worried..." Kanna felt her stomach twist in guilt. She hadn't even turned her phone on, no wonder she was worried! Chihiro suddenly smiled again. "But! You're okay so, how about we hang out together today?" Kanna smiled as well, relieved everything was okay. "I'd love to, first though. Can I please finish breakfast?" Chihiro nodded her head while following Kanna to the dining table.
Once they both sat down, Kanna resumed with her breakfast while Chihiro swarmed her with questions like "How do you like your dorm? What do you wanna do today for fun? Have you seen the entire campus?" and such. After Kanna finished her breakfast whilst answering her girlfriend's never-ending questions she went to her room to get her stuff, which included grabbing her bag, turning on her phone, and just making sure she looked decent and yelled "Chimiiii, have you already eaten something? Chihiro rolled her eyes at the nickname that her girlfriend called her by. "Kanna-Chan, how many times have I told you not to call me by that? But to answer your question, yes I did eat something before coming here." Chihiro yelled back with an irritated tone. "Probably like a million times by now~! But why don't you like it? I think it's a cute nickname!" Chihiro irked at the response she got and muttered "That's exactly the reason why I don't like it." Kanna didn't hear her response so she headed back to where Chihiro was sitting with the necessary things she thought she would need for the upcoming day. Including all your normal things you'd find in any girl's bag. "Fine fine, I won't call you that nickname in public, but I'm still calling you it when we're alone!" She giggled while hugging Chihiro from behind the chair she was sitting in. Chihiro still was slightly annoyed but looked back at Kanna and kissed her cheek then said "Alright, I guess I'm fine with that." Kanna let go of Chihiro and smiled at her, grabbing her hand as she dragged her to the door while saying "C'mon we need to go before it gets too late!" All of a sudden Kanna's phone started ringing, silencing them both. "Oh, it's Takashi!" exclaimed Kanna. Chihiro tensed up at the mention of Takashi's name, Kanna did not notice it though. Chihiro was about to argue with the fact that Takashi might tag along with them for the rest of the day when it was only supposed to be herself and Kanna. Quickly Kanna answered the call, Chihiro now glaring at Kanna's phone as if the more intense she glared at it, it would eventually break. But to Chihiro's dismay of course it would do nothing to prevent Kanna from answering the call. While Kanna and Takashi were talking about their plans for the day Chihiro just stood there in silence waiting for Kanna to hurry and finish up the call.
After what seemed like hours to Chihiro, Kanna finally hung up and looked at Chihiro with sparkles in her emerald eyes. "Chihiro, Takashi's gonna hang out with us today too! Is that alright?" Chihiro still wasn't too fond of having to share Kanna with her best friend. Although it made her happy to see Kanna gleam with such happiness, it made her slightly displeased that she wasn't the cause and center of that happiness, but Kanna's happiness was one of her top priorities. All while Chihiro was thinking that Kanna was rambling on about how much of a great day today would be! Chihiro forced a smile and gave her a quick "it's fine with me." She already knew what they had talked on the phone about based on Kanna's responses and her show of excitement, all three of them were going to be hanging out today, though she didn't know where. While Chihiro was thinking that Kanna quickly took Chihiro's hand, dragging her out of her dorm and locking the door behind them.
