A/N I really only had little inspiration on how Kestrelclaw would act if this seems a little off just let me know. I'm honestly not that good when it comes to writing villains.

Partridge woke to the sound of whistling wind. The dark withered underbrush clung together as the damp mist rolled through chilling her to the bone. A snap of a branch startled her front leg not helping with her balance.

"Who's there? Don't come any closer!" Partridge hissed trying to make herself look as intimidating as possible.

The bushes in front of her rustled and parted slightly to allow a matted spotted gray she-cat with large battle scars across her body. Partridge arched her spine even more and lashing her tail to mask her fear.

"Well, isn't this cute," the she-cat said her half gone tail swayed a bit and an audible purr gave to the fact she was amused.

Partial confusion washed onto Partridge's face, "where am I?" Partridge growled trying to keep her guard up.

"Did I really scare you that much...sigh...well you're in the forest of never-ending shadows if I do recall." Her harsh amber eyes looked at the canopy before directing her gaze to the young apprentice.

"Wait, great starclan am I dead?" Partridge's eyes going wide in fear.

"Well, that changed your mew. Hmf I can tell your far from dead otherwise you'd be in starclan or whatever." The unnamed she-cat said before swiping her tongue over her unkept paw which was the cleanest part of her body. Her eyes opening and darting to Partridge's injured leg.

"I should say it's really rude not to ask another cat what their name is. I wonder what manners are being rated as acceptable in the clans today." The she-cat's angled eyes met Partridge's fear-stricken ones.

"Umm...what is your name then?" Partridge questioned her guard slowly slipped and her fur stuck to her body.

"Thank you, for asking my name you may have heard more than a million times when anyone tells the tale of the formation of the clans. Though more than not they choose to use it as a curse more than anything." As she was saying this she flexed the same paw she was cleaning in the air looking for any dirt.

"You mean hmm...sorry it's been a while I was so focused on training I tend to forget a few things. Ah...sooo you must be Kestrelcall or Kestrelclaw." Partridge replied snidely.

"Was that supposed to be sarcasm? Anyway, spoiler you aren't going to be able to train with your leg for a few moons." Kestrelclaw glared coldly at Partridge.

"At least from what you've said I won't be mortally injured and what about it." Partridge mewed glaring back which almost faltered underneath the other she-cat's gaze.

"I wanted to give you the chance to possibly train while you're healing and it'll be more worthwhile than your friends' training with their mentors."

Contemplating Partridge replied, "and what's the catch? Something like that is going to be a little too good to be true right?" Venom somewhat lacing her words.

"A sharp one I see, well the 'catch' is you only have to keep these little meetings a secret. We wouldn't want to be caught and have others hold back on your training right." Kestrelclaw mewed in a somewhat mocking tone.

"Fine, but until I'm finished recovering," Partridge growled.

"Hmm...alright, remember this is a secret so no telling anyone. That is a threat you understand me." Kestrelclaw growled before leaping back into the underbrush. The darkness seemingly swallowing Partridge cocooning her into a deep sleep.
