This chapter contains suicidal thoughts and references to self harm. All of them will be in bold writing, but if you don't want to take a risk you do not need to read this chapter.

6 months later...

Clay doesn't know what to think. He's been trapped here for months, and no one has come to find him. Would they give up on him that easily? Don't they care? Shouldn't they know how hard it is to be here every night? To wake up and go through the same nightmare?

————————————————————————

"What?"

"I'm sorry George, but it's been half a year with nothing coming up. You need to find some new friends."

"What? No, Clay is still out there, alive. He needs our help. We're going to keep looking, right?"

"George, of course, but-"

"Please. I don't want to replace him. I just want him back."

People have tried to comfort George. Multiple have tried to become his friends. But how can he just move on when Clay is still out there, suffering and full of pain?

8 months later

It's been far too long. There is no way it could take  over a year of searching to find someone. How have they not found him yet?

These are the kinds of thoughts that plagued Clay tonight.

Did they ever love him? They must have not cared. They always loved my sister more anyways.

I'd be better off never existing. They don't love me. No one loves me. I should just end it all. If I stop eating I'll die. No one would've stopped me anyways. I can escape by my own ways.

————————————————————————

"I KNOW HE'S STILL OUT THERE!" George yelled, tears streaming down his face. "...he has to be! He just has to."

"George, I know this is hard-"

"You don't know anything. Please leave me alone."

Months of failures can really hurt a kid. Especially a kid that is trying to save the life of his friend.

3 months later

Clay stares at his wrists. The kidnappers didn't even bother treating the cuts.

Before Clay had a strong belief that it was never ok to wish someone was dead, and that everyone deserves a chance at life.

After meeting his kidnappers, he no longer believed that.

What if instead, he ended their lives instead?

——————————————————————

"Hey, George! Wanna play a game with us?"

"I'm ok, thank you though."

"George?"

"What?"

"Are you ok? I know about what happened with Clay is terrible, but you really have to move on at some point. There's no way he's still alive!"

George sighed. As much as he wanted to say that this wasn't true, he knew by now that no one would believe him. Maybe it would be best to try to get over Clay.
"Alright. What was your name again?"

"Really? You don't know? Wow. Well, it's Nick."

And Nick became George's new best friend. He eventually met Sapnap's friends as well, but he never really talked to them. They always made fun of him, while Sapnap tried his best to make George feel ok. They would never be as close as Clay and George once were, but that was ok. It would feel wrong anyways.
