The Reaper's Pick

I lie, watching the clock tick,
Lifelessly already, I watch as time passes by.
Tonight, I am the reaper's pick,
I shall take his hand and fly.

Will there be someone by my side?
Or will I be alone in heaven too?
Strangers watching as they cried,
"As morning struck, she disappeared like the dew."

But I am alive yet, awaiting tediously,
Waiting patiently for my time to come.
Looking for the black clothed beast almost deliriously,
I can hear the funeral drum.

Soon I will be floating and free,
Far away from earthly hassles, aches and pain.
But before I go listen to my final plea,
Don't forget me, even though I was nothing but plain.

Don't cry, my dear, for I shall come again.
Just remember to keep yourself warm,
For this time, I will have more than just my name under my gain.
This time, I will take the world by storm. -ME, Selina
