Chapter 30
I'm completely pissed off with the person who did all of this. Now, I really have to plan things out. I can't just sit back knowing that Ms. Karla still holds Cia. And as the day passes by, Cia's safety is at risk. That damned noxious woman might do anything to harm her. And I can't just let her do that.
Goddamn it!
I don't even know why she was doing this!
I groaned out of frustration. I gripped on the empty can of soda pretty tightly to make it dented. I'm so fucking pissed!
"Where are you going?" Joshua immediately asked when I quickly grabbed my keys and wore my hoodie.
"Auntie's. I can't afford to do nothing," I replied. "Can I ask you a favor?"
"Sure."
"Can you please look after my puppy? I'll be back quickly."
"Okay. You should go now."
I nodded. "Thanks, man. You the best."
Mabilis akong nag-drive papunta sa bahay nila Cassy. I probably drove pretty much faster because I arrived sooner than I expected. Pina-pasok na kaagad ako nung guard pagka-kita niya pa lang sa akin. Actually, I must be thankful because Tita Zel and Tito Pat decided to stay here for a month. Meron akong natatakbuhan kapag kailangan ko ng tulong.
"Gab, my nephew!" Tita Zel said upon seeing me.
I kissed her cheek. "Tita."
"I'm very sorry about what happened. We've been careful with the planning down to the execution of the plan, but... the luck wasn't on our side," she explained to me downheartedly.
"That's okay, Tita. I actually wanna thank you for helping me with this one. Really didn't know what would I do if you weren't here," I responded, genuinely smiling.
She smiled back at me. "No problem, Gab. Uh, is there anything you want us to do? Feel free to tell me, I'd be more than willing to help," Tita responded, worry quickly flashed through her eyes.
I stood straight and kept my hands inside my pocket. "Ah, Tita, can you tell me the whole story?"
"You should take your seat first before I tell you." I nodded and then made my way to their couch. Manang gave me water as I take my seat. Tita Zel cleared her throat. "We actually don't know how they managed to learn about our plan," she spoke.
Pagkatapos niyang sabihin iyon, sakto namang napa-tingin ako kay Diego nung mapansin ko na tahimik siyang naglalakad papunta sa kitchen. I stared at him and then averted my gaze to Tita Zel.
I took a deep breath.
It must not be him. Right. That was impossible... because as far as I can remember, he doesn't have any connections with them.
I drank my water... wishing that it could wash away my thoughts about Diego. "What happened next, Tita?" I asked.
"When those people who we hired arrived to the location, they said somebody came to approach them... and told them that Cia together with the guy who was with her already left that house..." Tita answered. "It was very surprising how they managed to move to another place before we could even reach Cia," she continued.
Napa-hilamos ako sa aking mukha gamit ang aking palad. Meron talaga akong hinala sa kung sino man ang nagsabi ng buong plano kay Ms. Karla. Pero wala naman nang silbi kung magagalit pa ako... that would just consume my time. I'd rather plan things out than waste my time blaming that person.
