Of the 1087 (don't ask how I know this number) books I have read in the 5930 days of my life, all of them had an event that triggered the main story line. For the practicality of this story, I will say it begun in my third year of high school. Year 10. There are too many details in the first few weeks of school to start right in the middle of the year, when IT happened. So I guess that leaves the first day of school.
