As they were driveing to their new apartment complex they start giggleing and talking abour what their place will look like. Considering this is a new state they should have no problem recovering from their past embarrassing issues back in New York. Now in Florida with a whole new lease on life and an apartment they are ready to start moving in to the Apartments of 67th Street. The old renovated hotel looked kinda run down on the outside but maybe it was because they were still renovateing the outside considering there were paint cans and ladders and one of the dangerous things window cleaners stand on. As they pulled up they both looked at each other and giggled a girlish squeal. As soon as Killia put their little beat up bug in park Mia jumped out and immediately ran behind the car eager to grab boxes.
"DUDE! This place is gonna be so cool. We are gonna have so much fun!" Killia said as they opened the trunk. As Killia looked up to the window of their apartment she noticed someone standing in the window, watching them as they unloaded boxes onto the old hotel cart. "Did you see that?" Killia asked Mia. Mia looked at her extremely concerned considering Killia looked paler than normal. "No, what did you see? Dont tell me this place is fucking haunted cause I'm not staying here if it is." Mia said slightly panicking and putting the super heavy box down on the cart. "You know what, I dont think it was anything. It was probably the blinds makeing it look like there was someone there. It is the 18th floor after all. And I'm probably just nervous to sleep in a new place. Come on lets get on the elevator." Killia took a deep breath in and out and they pushed the rickety cart into the lobby.
Seeing as they found this place online they had no clue how big it was on the inside. As they walked in and they took their first step onto the old red carpet and into a completely different dimension than they were just in. It felt like they had stepped into the 20s and werent getting out anytime soon. As they slowly looked around looking at all of the different architecture and super beat up furniture with signs attached to them saying "DO NOT TOUCH!!". Killia felt a tap on her sholder and jumped around to find a small fraile woman who handed her her apartment key. "I'm assumeing your the new move ins. Just keep in mind there is no exiting after 3 am," The woman said with a terrifying glance to both of them with her one clear eye."there are lots of things that go bump in the night in this area. And we would prefer not loose another group of renters like last time." Killia and Mia just looked at eachother with fear in there eyes and mouth "WTF" to each other then stare back at the odd woman. "You enjoy yourselfs. Let us know if you need anything." The older woman says as she hobbles away back to her desk. Mia goes up to Killia grabs her arm and pulls her to the golden elevators as fast as she can. "Dude Mildred over there was so creepy. Why would they have her greet people at the door." Mia snickered as the elevator doors closed in front on them.
As they stepped off the elevator Killias phone started to buzz rapidly in her pocket. "Hey, you go ahead and bring this to the room. I'll be there in a minute." Killia said as she answered the phone. As Mia trotted down the hall way looking for room 307,she tried listening to who Killia was on the phone with.
"Hey, whats up?"
"Nothing i just wanted to make sure my baby got to the place safe."
"Dont worry dad, I'm fine. Old Broke held up nicely for me when we got back. Ill tell you this apartment complex is huge."
"Yeah. I dont doubt it. I looked it up to make sure you werent moveing into a bad area. Looks fine on the inside. Says it was built in 1922. Just shortly after the prohibition. Suposedly in one of the ballrooms there a secret door that leads to an old, still running, speakeasy. You should go check it out."
"That sound awesome dad! I will definitely go hunting to find that later. But we have to go unpack these boxes."
"Okay baby girl. I love you and I'll see you soon."
"Okay. I love you too."
As Killia hung she noticed the hallway was super quiet. She started to feel as though someone was watching her, other than the cameras. She started walkind down the hallway past many doors. It was almost like the hallway never stopped. She came across her door and opened it to find all the furniture her dad had brought for them. She walked through the now messy apartment looking for Mia. As she crept into one of the rooms she noticed Mia on the floor just starfished onto her rug. "This place is amazing. I'm gonna love it here." Killia just laughed and joined her best friend on the floor. "This just feels so right. Like it feels like we are supose to be here." Killia said staring at the ceiling watching the fan go around. "Yeah. I feel like we are gonna be okay here. No creepy dudes to stalk us on the train to school, no mean ass professors watching your every move. Just us, Florida, and all the beaches around us." Mia said smileing. She quickly sat up and added "Speaking of beaches. I looked on up. Theres one about 10 minutes from here. Do you wanna go? I heard they have cotton candy on the board walk. And there is this grocry store called publix that apparently had bomb fucking food?" Killia smiled and nodded her head as they went to find the boxes with the bathing suits and towels in them. As they gathered their things to head out the door, the door to Killias bedroom slammed shut. Causeing both of them to run out so fast.
