"Fuck I'm late late late." The covers were thrown to floor. "Kids?" "Lucy?" No response.

Instead a blur could be seen moving around the room frantically, picking up the nearest jumper whilst tying up a headscarf.

The jumper happened to be Luciano's and stopped short of her knees. Shrugging Emi slipped on cycling shorts and a pair of air forces before reaching for her keys.

"Fuck off. I know I left them here." She huffed as she began to turn the place upside down.

"Luciano answer your damned phone." She hissed as she slammed her phone on the bed in anger before picking it back up.

Her nails clicked against the screen as she dialled his number again. Straight to voicemail. Emi took a deep breath before getting ready to speak.

"Hey. I'm calling just to ask where you and the kids have gone and if you know where my keys are. I'm running really late to open the bakery as well. Umm I'll see you later." She ended awkwardly.

Emi began the 15 minute walk to work minus the keys to open the building. She would stop by the bakery to see if she accidentally left her keys inside and didn't lock up. That would be disastrous.

If it was locked plan b was to walk to Candy's house and collect the spare one.

Meanwhile Luciano slaved away in the kitchen. A new employee named Hadiya was running the front of the bakery. She was good he had to admit and he knew she would get on well with Emi.

"Two more loafs." She shouted through the door receiving a grunt in response.

The work was tiring especially for a man whose field of work mostly involved reading, typing and sitting through meetings.

It didn't help that the three children were running a hyperactive riot much to the amusement of the customers.

Their mouths had sugar all over them from the jam donuts he had been giving them. When they stayed with Emi they were never that hyper.

He wondered if his method of giving them donuts to shut them up whenever they had questions was the right move.

Lost in his own bubble of self pity for the tedious job he had given himself he didn't hear when the screams 'mama' rang out through the bakery followed by the hearty laugh of the customers dining in.

"She's here." Hadiya whisper yelled to him through the door. She to was excited to see what would happen after he let her in on the plan.

She found it cute.

Grabbing the nearest kitchen towel he wiped his hands quickly before passing his hand through his disgruntled hair.

When he walked out of the kitchen he scanned the bakery looking for the beautiful woman he had done this for.

"Darling did you know you have the most wonderful husband?" He heard an elderly woman say. Her hand was clasped around Emi's as she smiled.

Luciano tried his best to make out the one word that Emi replied with but couldn't. It was too long to be a no or a yes and that fact irked him.

Emi sauntered up to him before grabbing his hand and leading him into the kitchen.

She stood in front of him for a few seconds. He watched her as she opened her arms before wrapping them around his waist whilst burying her face in his shirt.

Luciano's arms snaked around her his chin resting on her head.

"Thank you."her voice trembled.
