'darling you're glowing'

Diana sat in the kitchen, still not believing she was back. She now owed Damon, James and the new guy everything. She still wasn't completely sure this wasn't just another one of Runa's mind tricks to get her to let her guard down. But even if that were true, she'd enjoy her time in her head.

Her imagination is what got her through everything in the beginning. After the torture and degrading, Diana would slip into her own mind and go to her happiest memories. She thought about all her friends. But one that stuck in her head was her most beautiful childhood memory. Just her, Damon and Stefan playing in the field as kids. It was before vampires and werewolves and evil witches. It was pure and innocent, one of her happiest moments.

"Top of the morning to you." A voice knocked Diana get out of her thoughts.

She turned around to see the man that helped save her.

"Kai." He said again when he saw her confused face.

'Nice to meet you' she wrote.

"So uh, you got a boyfriend?" He smirked.

She furrowed her eyebrows. 'I just came back from a dungeon after being tortured for a year and you're flirting with me?'

"Is that something people aren't supposed to do?"

She made a face as Anastasia and James walked in the room.

"Hey sexy, how's adjusting going?" Anastasia asked.

"Our therapy session didn't really go anywhere. She needs a little more time." James began to eat the grapes on the counter, then spit them back out when he realized they were fake.

"Who's this?" Anastasia gestured to Kai.

He held out and hand and smirked. "Kai Parker."

"Don't try it Parker, you're way out of her league." James chuckled.

"I am in everyone's league." Kai sounded offended.

"You're not even in the ballpark." Anastasia stopped him.

He furrowed his brows and looked to Diana. Then he gasped, "OH!"

They all laughed and Anastasia decided to just make James a snack when he kept eating and spitting out fake grapes. Diana wrote in her notepad, 'what did I miss while I was gone?'

"Well Emily broke up with Anastasia." James started.

Diana went to gasp but it was silent.

"Damon went crazy for a bit, Kai came from something called a prison world...I think, I wasn't really here for that. Bonnie has an obvious crush on Ana, and there is currently a gorgeous new bartender at the grill who's number I'm trying to get."

'Well good job Alistar'

"Bonnie is not crushing on me." Anastasia lightly blushed.

"I would love to see this and that together." Kai said making gestures with his hands.

'We all would'

"Yes so if you would please woman up and make a move, love, that'd be great." James happily accepted her sandwich.

"You guys can all suck it." She stuck her tongue out at them.

"Ooh it's Lucy's shift I have to go, I'll see you at Cece's party darling." James kissed the girls' heads and nodded to Kai politely. "Nice to meet you Malakai."

"Really?" Kai turned his head at the act of James being civil to him as the whole Scooby gang had been nothing but dismissive and skeptical.

"Yes and i have magic session with Bonnie today so, that's where I'll be." Anastasia blushed again and Diana made a knowing face.

Kai and Diana were left alone again. She opened her book to not be awkward. Before she was taken she was a very talkative person. Kind of like Caroline, she was always talking about something.

She wrote on her paper, 'what made you come to mystic falls?'

He looked to the paper and grabbed his own pen. 'It's a long story that involves me being stuck here so damon doesn't kill me'

Diana grew a look of curiosity and handed him her pen to explain.
