The truth has to come out

The third day was when everything came out. After a long day of doing activities in the city, they all had to walk to the train station. As they were walking, Rachel noticed that Taylah was being quiet.

"Taylah, wait up a second."

Taylah paused and waited for Rachel to catch up. (It took a little bit longer than usual because she was pushing Alex in her wheelchair). She asked Taylah if she was okay. Taylah said "Yeah, I'm fine."

Rachel said to Taylah "Tell me the truth!"

Taylah stuck with her reply "I'm fine."

As they continued to walk, Rachel asked "How is school, since Simon and I came in?"

Taylah looked at her, then straight back to the ground and just shook her head.

"Taylah, what has happened?" Rachel asked with concern in her voice.

Taylah asked if they could talk about it later but Rachel said "No. I know that you are just trying to get away from this conversation. What has happened?"

It took Taylah a while to explain everything that had happened. After she had finished, she was beginning to cry. Rachel could see how much Taylah was hurting. How much pain that she was in.

Alex said "Taylah, I don't understand why anybody would be nasty to you. You are one of the nicest most caring, fun people that I know. They must be very jealous because there is nothing wrong with you. Nothing at all. Promise me you'll always remember that I think you are perfect the way that you are. Please don't change yourself, to make others happy. You're great!"

Taylah broke down into tears, as they were waiting for their train to arrive. Rachel asked "Taylah, why are you crying?"

Taylah replied with "'Cause of Alex and the bad memories."

Rachel was confused. "What Alex said?"

"Yeah. It is the nicest thing that anyone has said to me, in a long time."

"Oh, Taylah. Please stop crying. You are going to make me cry. Here, give me a hug."

Taylah gave Rachel a hug. Rachel sat Taylah down with the other girls. All of the girls on camp were close. They were all concerned about her but she kept on saying that she was fine. All of the girls knew that she was lying.

They all let it go. Once they had arrived back to where they were staying, everyone went to the lounge to hangout. Taylah went straight to bed. She didn't feel like being with everyone. The next day was the second last day of camp. Taylah and a few others decided to go ice skating. Just before they went on the ice, Taylah went to tell Rachel something but she was distracted and called her mum. Rachel smiled and walked away. Taylah found it funny and embarrassing.
