Cris:It's 1:06 pm , it's my first day of my new job and I'm running late. That's just great. I'm just a block down but I hope I don't get into that much trouble. They can't fire someone for being late on their first day...can they? I don't know I'm just going to continue running down the block. I enter the liquor store quickly putting down my things running into a coworker.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I promise it won't happen again."I semi-yelled in a panic voice with my arms up.
"It's fine I didn't say anything. But I do hope you cover my ass for when I run late." Giggles a young man. He's fairly tall I notice but not too tall. Smooth face like if he were to just shave this morning. Brown hair but a very light color. Seems very nice and friendly so I continue talking to him.
"So does it get busy around here or is it always this calm?" I joked as I leaned against the counter
"It's calm but don't jinx it, my name is Chesko by the way." He held out his hand giving the most innocent friendly smile I have ever seen.
"Cris... your name is Chesko?" I was fairly impressed by the name.
"Nah, that's a nickname... and no I will not tell you my first name. Just call me Chesko" he said as he carried packs of alcohol down under the register then getting a sticky-note and wrote a name.I wiped down the counters curious on what the sticky-note has written on it. So I try getting closer to read it. He sticks the note on top of the alcohol and starts grabbing his stuff ready to leave. As he puts on his jacket he looks at me. So I just stare at him waiting to see if he tells me what that is.
"Can you do me a huge favor? A friend if mine is going to come by. She's my height, dark hair, fair toned skin. Her name is Joana and she will be passing by for these in about an hour or so. May you please hand her these, yes they are paid for but it's for a party of hers." Chesko said getting the last of his stuff and making his way to the front door.
"Yuh yeah sure. Lady name Joana coming to pick these up, can't be that hard to remember that." I giggled as he put his hand out thanking me as he left. Now to just remember to give it to this "Joana" he mentioned. I sit down on a swivel chair that is by the register. This is going to be a long day.
3:37pm
Hasn't been busy, a couple people came in... no one was "Joana. Starting to think he was playing a prank on me and had me waiting for an imaginary person. Well I did make him cover me a little since I was running late. I put my head down on the counter and rested it. Then I hear the doorbell ring. I don't lift my head up right away since I had just put it down.
"Hello, welcome!" I said a little louder than usual since I still was facing down.
"Hey!" I heard a female voice very close to me.I looked up right away surprised to see a lady... a very beautiful one actually. She is leaning against the counter just smiling at me. This must be "Joana" Chesko's friend. God he got the description on point, except he didn't mention that she has a very beautiful smile. She looks at me as if she is staring into my soul and is looking for something.
"A friend of mine works here, names Chesko, he mentioned to me that he has cases for me." She said leaning a little closer.
"Y-You must be Joana?" I stuttered, looking closely at her.God she looks like God's work, no scratch that the Devil's work. I shake off the feeling and back away from the counter heading towards the cases of alcohol.
She giggled at me and walked the same direction I was heading, still watching me as if I was some sort of prey to her. I kneel down picking up a case. These are heavier than I thought. As I got back up. I looked straight ahead and there she is, centimeters away from me. Only space between us is the case of alcohol. I looked again straight into her eyes and her smile widened.
