chapter 1 | flight

dixie's pov

"DIXIEEE! HURRY UP I DON'T WANNA MISS THE FLIGHT!" charli screamed from her room.
"char it's literally 8 in the morning and the flight is at 3pm chill," i replied.
"yeah but it takes ages to get to the airport!" she stood at my door holding one of her bags.
"it only takes half an hour to get there oh my god," i rolled my eyes as i put another shirt in my suitcase.
"oh whatever," she left to grab all of her luggage she packed a whole week ago.
i wasn't even dressed yet so i chucked on some black sweatpants, a random black graphic tee and white air forces.

it was now 1pm and we were on the way to the airport, i was driving with charli in the passenger seat next to me. we were blasting music and singing along to it, laughing our heads off.

we reached the airport and went through all of the airport stuff. (it's not interesting but you know what i mean all the security and luggage stuff.)

it was finally time to board the plane to LA, where we'd be staying for the next few months at the one and only hype house with a bunch of other famous tiktokers.

we were halfway through our flight, i was almost asleep with a neck pillow wrapped around my neck. charli was watching a movie on the little tv on the back of the seat.

"i can't wait to finally meet chase" she turned to me with a grin.

"i know, you've literally been facetiming him every night." i replied, spitting facts.

"who are you most excited to meet? nick? ryland? tayler?" she was trying to annoy me.

"everyone." i responded bluntly. "i barely even know tayler how does he like me i-"

i had texted a few people often from the hype house, nick and ryland i'd say i'm already friends with through snapchat and texting. i've only texted tayler once before, he likes me and everyone knows it but i barely know him so i can't say i like him back. i've texted one of the hype house girls a bit, addison. she's really nice, i can tell we're going to become really good friends in the next few months.

"whatever you say" charli snickered and turned back to her movie.

i woke up to charli rapidly shaking me and a voice coming through the plane speakers saying we've landed and can leave.

"dixie wake up we're here!" charli shook me excitedly.

"i'm awake stop shaking me" i shoved her off me and looked around to see people getting up and heading off the plane.

we grabbed our things and headed off into the airport. chase and thomas were meant to be picking us up and meeting us somewhere in the airport.

we grabbed all of our luggage from the baggage carousel and headed down the airport more to where my eyes locked onto chase and thomas.

"look who it is char," i said as her jaw dropped and eyes widened at the sight of chase.

"chase!" she squealed and ran to him.

"char!" he grinned widely as she jumped into his arms.

the two hugged tightly for what seemed like forever. as i walked over to them all i realised addison was here too, i didn't know she was coming.

"oh my god, addi!" i ran and hugged her.

"dixie!" she smiled uncontrollably and wrapped her arms around me.

i finally got to meet addison and hug her and just be around her in person, i was so happy.

the rest of us shared hugs and we headed off to drive back to the hype house. the whole drive we were all talking and laughing like the best friends we're all soon to be.

we reached the hype house and everyone else was waiting in the main room for us, there were tons of screams and chatter as soon as we entered the house, it was crazy being here in person, the house is so much bigger than it seems in photos and videos.

charli and i hugged and said hello to everyone, thomas showed us around the house a bit so we knew where everything was.

"so where do we stay, like where are we sleeping at night?" charli asked.

"well there's a spare spot in me and avani's rooms," addison said.

"how about i stay with addison and charli you can stay with avani," i suggested.

"that's cool with me," avani shrugged.

"alright, to your room then avani!" charli smiled and two went off to avani's room.

addison and i went to her room, i noticed there was only one double bed.

"we'll have to share the bed if that's cool with you, if not i can sleep in the lounge room or-"

"no it's fine!" i smiled and began to unpack my stuff into the spare dresser.

"ok cool, i'm going out with bryce to get dinner, want anything?" she asked.

"maybe just some fries and a burger from anywhere," i replied.

"will do, k, see ya in an hour or so," she left.

bryce? who's bryce? does she mean bryce hall? i know of him but barely.

i finished unpacking and headed to charli and avani's room.

"hey dix!" charli was unpacking her multiple suitcases and avani was sitting on the bed.

"what's up guys," i said and sat down next to avani.

"avani was telling me about anthony."

"oooo who's anthony?" i teased avani.

"oh nothing other than my beautiful boyfriend, look at him!" she showed me a photo of him.

"oh that guy, i've seen him on tiktok before," i replied.

the three of us continued talking and getting to know each other.

"who's bryce?" i decided to ask.

"bryce hall? addi's mans, that's who," avani replied.

"are they dating?"

"yeah, have been for a few months now."

how didn't i know addison had a boyfriend, that's odd, she's like one of the most popular tiktokers and somehow i didn't even know. oh well.

i heard the front door open and chatter so i left the room and looked down from the top of the stairs to see addison and this bryce guy i assume enter with bags of takeaway fast food and some groceries.

now i recognise the bryce guy, seen him on tiktok too.

"ok i gotta go back to sway now, i'll see ya soon. bye addi, love you." the two shared a kiss and he left.

"is that your special man?" i said with a smirk from the top of the stairs.

addison looked around wondering where my voice came from until she looked up at me and laughed. "yeah, that's the special man."

"what'd you get for me" i jogged down the stairs and examined the bags of food.

"mcdonalds, i got dunkin for charli." she gave me the mcdonalds bag.

"did someone say dunkin!" charli called from avani's room.

"yeah i got you some!" addison called back.

charli sprinted down the stairs and snatched the bag and drink from addison, then running back up to avani's room and calling out "thanks!"

addison put the rest of the bags in the kitchen and we went to her room and sat on her bed eating and chatting away.
