I saw blood sputtering everywhere, staining the white marbled floor. Angels of my own kin were killing each other brutally with no mercy. I hear bones breaking… screams of pain… everything you could imagine. As I looked over to my right, I saw a dark angel stabbing a girl with his golden sword in the chest, right through the heart. She fell on her knees, wings curling. I saw her eyes looking at me. They were dark and…… empty. She laid on the cold floor, eyes open, and blood was starting to pool around the little girl’s dead body, tingeing her angelic white dress.
My eyesight was getting blurry and tears were starting to run down my cheeks. I felt my heart sink. I wiped my tears with my blood-stained hands from fighting. My own father, Saxious, a dark angel and a king, could actually bear seeing them dead, Getting slayed and Murdered. He ordered his soldiers to kill each pure blood that they see. He wanted every one of them slayed.
The dark angels had 3 kings. The first one was named Decimus. He was known as the most powerful one. He’s a half-blood like me. He could turn something into ashes by touching it.The other one was named Crodine. He was the most unnoticeable king among the 3. He could control things through his mind. My father? He could kill someone by just looking into his eyes. And as that happens, he looks right into your soul. It would seem like your eyes were locked on him. Well, He actually never knew he still had me. He thought I had died. After all, he would never care if he’d left someone behind. Never care if he had a great responsibility.
Vengeance. He wanted to take revenge with what my mother and the clan did... to protect me. She lied to Saxious, that I had died from birth. He didn’t love my mother. All he wanted was to bear a child of his own…to replace his throne when he dies. He wanted someone to follow his steps. And now that he thought I was gone, he wanted to kill them all. And I hated him for that.
Corinthia, the queen of the pure bloods, my mother, once loved Saxious truthfully. They were both forbidden to love each other because of a prophecy:
“The pure ones shall never meet the dark,
For they are stained with the lust of man.
The Savior shall defend all mankind and its kin,
Until peace and prosperity is seen.”
My parents once violated this…for my father fooled my mother for his own want. The past might never be changed, but I’ll stand for what happened. I’ll take a grip of this destiny. Because I, Athalia, am “The Savior”. I have the power to defeat the kings of the dark. I may have the blood of two but I’ll do whatever it takes to protect my clan and the world from this war. I will not waste what has been given. And whoever stands in my way, shall deserve death.
Everyone went silent in a moment. I saw dead bodies around me… and a few knights running around to protect the others. “Athalia, Watch out!” A voice shouted. I peeked over my shoulder. I thought it was over---- Well, I was wrong. Just in time, I was able to avoid the swing of an axe. I kicked the aggressive angel on his knees and knocked him off. He stood up abruptly and made another swing to my left side. I took the silver chains off my shoulders and swung it around the handle of his axe. I pulled it toward me until he let go and took it. I threw my chains high up in the air. Light flashed and a silver sword fell on my hands. And now it turned gold. I felt its heavy weight on my right arm. I charged and ran towards him. I jumped with one knee raised, landing on his chest. He let a breath out of his mouth and blood was starting to flow on his scarred cheeks. I raised the sword, its blade facing his throat. Without reluctance, I let the sword fall and hit his neck. I stood up and took hold of the sword’s handle. I whipped it to my side and it turned back to its chain form and went near the room’s font and touched the water as it rippled. With a blink of an eye, everything that was happening with my father and the other kings showed. They were laughing and smiling. Saxious said, “How hilarious! She might have slayed one of our best knights. But she’ll regret every single thing if she tries to kill us.” Suddenly, A warm hand touched my shoulder. “Athalia, isn’t it over yet?” I looked at Cian, the man who protected me… the one I love… the one I’d fight with ‘til death. “No. It’s still the beginning.”
