   Y/N'S POV

When I walked into the bedroom, I almost dropped my coffee cup at spotting Erik sitting on the bed. I walked out of the bedroom and then back into the bedroom to make sure I wasn't going crazy.

I said,"Um, baby, aren't you supposed to be at work?"

Erik didn't look up from his phone as he replied,"Called out sick."

I sat down beside Erik and pressed my palm against his forehead, trying to see if Erik had a high fever or something. He never called out sick from work; especially; since he enjoyed his new job. Even when Erik was sick, he still went to work anyway.

Erik gently pushed my hand away and said,"Y/N, I'm fine. Why are you all up in my face right now?"

I gave him a kiss and said,"Because it doesn't really bother you. You're just trying to sound mean right now. I know you."

Erik smiled at me, yet I watched him as I asked him,"Why did you call out sick from work?"

Erik took my hand saying,"I had a sick day I could use, and I used it."

That was all Erik said, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't concerned about him. For Erik to be in bed instead of at work working, it had never happened before today. Maybe he was just worn out and wanted a day off. If so, I was going to take care of him and if he wanted space, I'd give it to him.

I gave Erik another kiss and smiled warmly at him saying,"I won't question you any longer. If you want to be alone, just say it. You work hard every day, and I want you to be okay. Do you want to be alone?"

Erik shook his head saying,"I want you to stay where you are. I don't want to be alone."

I nodded, and Erik wrapped his arms around me.

He asked me,"Do you regret marrying me?"

I said,"No. I have no regrets, Erik. None. I'm sticking with you until the very end. Why are you asking me that?"

Erik wrapped his arms tighter around me as he said,"I get scared sometimes that all of this isn't real."

"All of this is real, Erik, very real. I get scared, too, since we're being honest. You just care for me too much. It sounds bad the way I say it, but I think I just say it that way because I'm so used to people not caring at all or very little about me. You, you go above and beyond for my every need, and I love you so much for being you. I get scared that you're really just a figment of my imagination and that one day I'll wake up back in that terrible apartment with my ex-boyfriend."

Erik kissed my cheek and said,"Thank you for sharing that with me, baby. You will never have to worry about him again. You'll always wake up beside me. That's a promise."

  I said,"What if I'm out of town?"

Erik laughed before he said,"That's different, Y/N, but you know what I mean. Stop being smart."

I smiled and said,"I like being smart, but I do know what you mean. But Erik, I will hold you to what you said about always waking up beside each other. I hope the day doesn't come where I'll wake up and you'll be halfway across the country with some other girl."

Erik looked me in the eyes as he said,"I will make sure that I am only waking up beside you, and the day will not come when I am halfway across the world with someone else while you are here alone. You're my wife, and I married you because of who you are."
