Once the coast was clear, the clump you had created dispersed. Everyone began checking the bodies, making sure they were all dead or unconscious. You on the other hand slowly made your way down the familiar doors, Steve following close behind. You reached the familiar door and with trembling hands, you pushed it open.

"Stay where you are, or I'll blow a hole into their head."

You froze. The look of horror on your face couldn't even begin to describe how terrified you were. Even with a gun pressed against their temple, (Y/C/N) still managed to smile at you. "Hey (Y/N)."

You stayed silent, not sure what to say, and even if you had the words, the fear in your bones prevented you from moving a muscle.

"Come on (Y/N), you're not ignoring me now, are you?" (Y/C/N) joked.

"Quiet." Baron ordered, jerking (Y/C/N) slightly before glancing at you. "So nice of you to finally join us-."

"What do you want?" You snarled. Your terror had quickly turned into rage as you faced the man who killed your parents.

"Ah yes. The (L/N)'s, always getting straight to the point," Baron smirked. "You get it from your mom."

"Shut up." You growled.

"You know, I see a lot of her in you. Snarky comments, fiery attitude-"

"Shut up."

"But, of course, your dad always kept her in check."

"I said shut up!" You yelled, taking a step forward, your eyes flashing black for a split second.

"Whoa there, (Y/N). We wouldn't want you to cause another," he cocked the gun. "Accident."

You froze once more. No one moved or said anything until Steve finally stepped up. "Look, just give us the kid, no one has to get hurt."

Baron laughed. "Hate to break it to you Cap, but that's not gonna happen. You see this?" Baron lifted (Y/C/N)'s shirt slightly, a countdown stared back at you as Baron pulled out a remote with two buttons on it, a red one and a green one, his finger hovering dangerously close over the green one. "In four minutes and twenty seconds, you're all going to be blown to bits. Or, I can just detonate this thing with the press of a button. So, unless you want to see your parents again, I suggest you don't do anything that might get you and your friends killed. And don't even think of trying to use your powers, you know it won't work on me."

Your only plan flew out the window.

"So here's what's going to happen. I'll give you back your friend, but, you have to let me go."

You didn't even hesitate before sternly giving your answer.

Baron laughed at your response. "Well, then I guess you can just say goodbye to your friend." His finger hovered over the trigger.

"Wait!" You yelled.

He paused and smirked. "Oh? Did someone have a change of heart?"

If looks could kill, Baron would be dead six times over.

"Fine." You hissed.

"Oh, I'm so glad you came to your senses. Now, you're going to let me walk out of here, or else." He stated, waving the remote above (Y/C/N)'s head.

You growled slightly and took a step back, then two, and continued till you had backed out of the room completely. The team stood and watched you, wondering what you could be glaring at with such hatred. When Baron strolled out of the room, all weapons were aimed at him but you held out your hand. "Don't. If he presses that button, we're all dead." You stated.
