Paul's POV :

Its been two days now since the incidence of the kidnap and given the late time in which they got to know about it,there was even little they could do.
According to the mother, who reported the case the child was supposed to go for a sleepover for a day or two in her friend's place and that was the last seen location of the child.
The mother in her statement stated that she dropped the girl at the estate's gate directly in front of the gate because she was late to an event at the office and due to estate's regulation you had to pass through a process of search-and-check before you could drive in that is for a visitor and seeing as she did not have the time, she simply dropped the child at the gate knowing that her daughter knew the estate well since it was her best friend's house.

The mother had been calling consistently asking them to do more,he had assigned two officers for this particular case and their case file was not even substantial enough.
They had questioned everyone involved going from the immediate family to the child friend's family.
Everyone was in a panic already and when they questioned the child best friend's mother as to why she did not raise any alarm, she said that she did not see the girl and so she assumed she wasn't coming since this wasn't the first time the mom had forgotten to drop the girl off.

As it were, the case was turning into something else entirely and resources were being pumped into it,the peculiarity of this case was that no one had called for the ransom money no  not even one person and it was five days already.
Know they knew they had to go to the media, left to the police force they would have liked to avoid the media because this was sure to put them on the line and cause nation wide panic because  this wasn't a case of kidnapping for ransom but maybe even ritual or something in that order.
They had to solicit with the public to come forward with any information they might have concerning the case.

Preparing for a press conference wasn't his thing, because reporters and journalists always got under his skin, they seemed to ask direct questions when he least expected which resulted in him divulging more than what he wanted to.
At this point, the conference room was already in a buzz because information had leaked about the case and they were already speculating along that line and so he needed to keep his face straight, void of any emotion because they were going to pick him apart and he would not allow that.

Walking into the room, with cameras turned on his face, everyone talking at once he felt over-whelmed,he declaration quiet unless he wasn't going to speak and only then did the noise die down.
He began his well-composed speech telling them how they had diverted resources into the case and how it was a top priority for them, being vague with the details they pleaded with the public to come forward with any help or suspicious findings, ending it with how they are already working on leads currently.
Then came the buzz of the reporter bees, that was how he could explain it,they started asking him questions and he was very specific about choosing which questions to answer but like always one question through him off,a middle-aged joirnalist looking like he just crept out of a night bus  asked him " is this an isolated event or are we dealing with a serial killer?".
Seriously he was expecting something along that line and was not quite prepared for the silence that came after this question,it was like everyone was waiting for his answer and with an assuredness that was practiced he replied saying "this is an isolated event" simply put so as not to reveal too much .
He ended the session quite early because he needed to breathe well.

Walking into his office,he let out a long breathe on the journey back to the station,he hoped that it was an isolated event because he couldn't handle a children taking psycho.
He was quick to loosen his tie, allowing himself to take deep breathes.
He decided then that he had to go home early,he would make up for it tomorrow but for today he had to go home to rewind....
