PROMPT: Champagne

                            "Sparkling Stars"

I asked her if I could steal her for a moment,

From all the ruckus of the party.

She agreed and let me lead her away,

Outside to the balcony.

Together we leaned on the wooden terrace,

Looking up at the night sky.

Not talking or anything,

Just being there in the moment, feeling one another.

Suddenly she turns to me and says, "This champagne tastes like the stars."

Quoting from a book,

She raised the glass in her hand

Before taking another sip.

As she faced away from me and looked back up at the sparkling heavens,

I get reminded of how her eyes are like the stars.

Eyes that often shine from simple happiness,

Never giving a second thought.

I felt that it was the right moment,

And I caught her by the waist.

I asked if I could kiss her,

And she pressed her lips to mine as an answer.

We break apart after a while,

The two of us breathless.

She grinned at me and I smiled back.

I finally got to taste the stars with her tonight.
